In a later episode, Sheldon dismissed astrology as "pseudo-scientific hokum," and Penny answered, "Blah, blah, blah, typical Taurus!" Now, I don't believe in astrology, but Taureans (i.e., Sheldon) ARE said to scoff at newfangled ideas and dismiss them as, well, "hokum." Hmm... weird.
@JakeyJake95 Okay. There are twelve zodiac signs, and at least six billion people on Earth (I know it broke seven, but six makes the math easier). Due to the pigeonhole principle (look it up), a single horoscope applies to at least half a billion people. Don't you think a single horoscope, being as vague as it is, would apply to some of such a great number of people?
@TheHeidelbergKid Yes, if the horoscope in question only applies to a person's sun sign (the sign they were born under). Astrologers see these types of horoscopes as highly vague and generalized. That's why they calculate birth charts, which tell all of the planets' positions (which signs they were in) at the time of one's birth. Using a birth chart, an astrologer can build a horoscope that is unique to the person to whom the chart belongs.
@JakeyJake95 You do realize that about four people are born a second, right? Thousands would share the exact same horoscope even taking into account birth charts. Hardly unique.

ronaldmonster and 2 other people believe the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of their birth somehow affects their personality
Sheldon: Yes. It tells us that you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality.
So much is lost to disbelief, karl jung who was smarter than any writer on the big bang theory, and any of u posting believed in astrology. I dare you to read about your sign and introspect in an objective fashion. but u would have to be an aries to be objective.
I dare you to read the work of Carl Jung, since you obviously haven't. He doesn't think astrology was correct, in fact his own research into personality types (based on Hippocrates and Plato's works) basically says that its a weighted coin toss both in how you perceive information and how you react to it. He should have instead continued the work of Freud (his own mentor) since all typology is just classification. Either way, astrology isn't real. If it was, people would call it science instead.
it tells us that you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the sun's aparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constelations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality!!! jajaja amoo a sheldon!! es lo mejor
why do you say they are arbitrarily defined? what can you say about the fact that the sky was dividded roughly the same form (12) and the north star is important in many old cultures??
Officially astrology was scientifically disproved four times by four different science groups. I am talking only about practical experiments of course, theoretically it was turned to nothing countless times with a solid facts and arguments.
Yeah, that and Penny couldn't said something like it, its just not in her character. lol
-- that's prolly enough about us, tell us about you!
-- oh, me? okay.. i'm a sagitarius, which probably tells you way more than you need to know..
-- yes.. it tells us that you participate in the mass cultural dellusion that the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality
I just think its nice to have a comedy about smart people, rather than the usual dimwitted comedies which, although funny, get old after one or two seasons.

@jffryh To many I am afraid, I think it varies from country to country but in general about 80% of all
females does believe, I did a study and asked all females I encountered during a couple of years
and got that percentage, regarding males I do not know but I suspect it is much lower.
