I bought this album totally at random when I was in high school. I just thought the cover was cool and bought it on a whim. The whole album is awesome, but this song especially blew me away.

I'm still mesmerized by his voice. Always have been. This song brings back sweet feelings of hearing Rheostatics for the first time and straining to hear all the details of their music.

I heard the Sarah Slean/Art Ensemble version of this on Bravo last night. I found out it was a cover here on youtube, and then tracked this video. Both versions are very compelling. Martin Tielli was a singer/songwriter for the Rheostatics, the 'biggest band you've never heard of'. Their newest (and last) album is 2067, one of my favorite songs is 'The Tarleks', in which he is the lead singer. There is a music video on youtube for it.
