@coyoacan73 Do you not find the coda/final section pretty dam terrifying? Maybe its just me but I like totally freeze in fear during the final section.....
I was first introduced to Ralph Vaughn Williams' music in high school band in the early 60's. For, enjoying music that I actually performed seems to have stayed with me through the years, possibly because you get a deeper appreciation from such music that you studied and played yourself. This piece is my favorite because of its many moods reflect beautifully a time and place that may have or could still exist. This is the magic of RVW's compositions.
A wonderful sprightly piece. This and Elgar's Cockaigne (In London Town) paint such a vivid and bustling picture of a London now long in the past. Love the picture too - what is it/who is it by? Thanks for uploading.
i recently went to nashville with my high school concert bands and top jazz band, and we heard this preformed by the nashville symphony, which was absolutely spectacular
The finest movement of all of R VW's symphonies. Magical music.
