  • The finest movement of all of R VW's symphonies. Magical music.

  • @coyoacan73 Do you not find the coda/final section pretty dam terrifying? Maybe its just me but I like totally freeze in fear during the final section.....

  • I was first introduced to Ralph Vaughn Williams' music in high school band in the early 60's. For, enjoying music that I actually performed seems to have stayed with me through the years, possibly because you get a deeper appreciation from such music that you studied and played yourself. This piece is my favorite because of its many moods reflect beautifully a time and place that may have or could still exist. This is the magic of RVW's compositions.

  • This painting shows the County Fire Office in the first half of 19th century by anonymous autor.

  • A wonderful sprightly piece. This and Elgar's Cockaigne (In London Town) paint such a vivid and bustling picture of a London now long in the past. Love the picture too - what is it/who is it by? Thanks for uploading.

  • i recently went to nashville with my high school concert bands and top jazz band, and we heard this preformed by the nashville symphony, which was absolutely spectacular
