i'm a sophomore violinist and my high school's orchestra is playing this for our biggest concert of the year. personally i like the way the strings sound without the vocalists but great either way.
A perfect interpretation! It would be just right to publish at least the Conductor's name: John Goulart, as found in the Bow Valley Chorus's web page. Nothing is ever out of his control and his gesture is a model of clarity!
And of course sincere compliments to all those involved in this exemplary performance.
yeah this song is really hard to sing, especially for tenors-but i must say i love it, Mozart is the best! My choir is doing this for UIL, for those of u who know what it is.
we are singing this in my school choir and its really difficult but sounds really good when its finished so its worth all the hard work. We were going to perform this on our choir tour to Paris in February but we hadn't quite finished it and we are stil working on it now. I like Mozart's music but most of his songs are so difficult-well the soprano part certainly is.
is it me or do i hear a pipe organ as well? this is an amazing song... we were suppose to do it last year with piano... but i like this better with strings.
AAAHHHHHH!!!! I commented before I saw the whole video. I LOVE how he conducts those tenor exclaimations at "Exultabit caput."
The tenors do have some triumphant shouting in this work, don't they? (See also the tenor entry at "Sicut erat in principio" in the Magnificat from the same work.)
love this song.... my honors chorale is singing this and I'm the tenor soloist =]...
the concert is tomorrow!!! I'm so excited!!!!

WELL SUNG!! Well played on the part of the orchestra too, which is nice because the string parts in this are pure genius!

that was beautiful. We sang this in 1971 at Plant High School in Tampa. Thanks John Cooksey.

I remember singing this piece in High School and it's great to see it performed since I hadn't heard it in over 10 years! Thanks for posting.
