i had this game for a week, dont get me wrong it's a god game but i just couldn't get myself into it like battlefield or CoD, and no im not a fanboy, those are just the games i play the most on
I agree so much with this review, MAG might have been a bit unoriginal, but the intense 256 multiplayer battles "when they worked" were a thing of beauty, win or lose. It was and is incredible such a game exists, I hope Zipper comes through with MAG 2.
MAG: The first game that actually makes me somewhat sad that I have an Xbox instead of a PS3. However, given a choice between MAG and HALO, I am happy that my needs still lie predominately with HALO :P
@korno96 when it came to being a team oriented tactical shooter, it blows cod and battlefield out of the water. BF doesn't let you talk to other squads or have a party bigger then 4 players WTF. MAGs dom and acqui mods are nothing like gamers have ever seen. Plus, what other game uses bunkers, AA, roadblocks etc. the same way mag does? because of this you can attack in a different way every game
@SONYOFJAPAN It doesn't matter, like I said before multi-platform releases almost never have any major differences between each other, with the recent exception of Mortal Kombat. So use an Xbox 360, or use a PS3, it doesn't matter, the outcome will be the same either way.
This is why I quit subbing to Game Informer,their a bunch of 360 fanboys who are biast. Their AVP review was laughable. XPLAY is wayy more accurate. A 4/5 is good in my book.
Definately on the greatest ps3 shooters out there but I'd have to critisize the Valor and Raven soundtracks and 720p graphics (not the graphic style) and the frame rate. But those aren't really anything to ruin a game experience.
@james65508 Well, it IS fun, but it does have some major balance issues, and it is VERY hostile towards n00bs. you start with guns that have moderate damage against people with uber guns that kill in 3 hits, which kind of sucks, and it has other issues with gameplay choppiness that games like BFBC2 and BF3 don't. HOWEVER, MAG brings a lot of awesome things to the table that no other FPS has, like the leveling tree, extensive loadout system, etc [TO BE CONTINUED...]

I love MAG because it is the most realistic MMOFPS I've ever played. Unlike Call of Duty, there aren't many run-and-gunners. In this game, you actually have to use team work, which I love.

@thereviewer1234 running a game highest settings will NOT crash a PC. even if your PC has no graphics card, you can still put the game on max settings, but you will get 1 frame per second. Also, console versions tend to be more prone to slowdown, just check out the ps3 version of The Orange Box. And i am not a graphics whore, i also play StarCraft, Diablo 2, F.E.A.R, Serious sam and other old games like that.

@thereviewer1234 Having 1 frame per second in a game is not the same thing as it crashing. It just means that the game will lag. "Slowdown" refers to a games' framerate dropping below 30 or so frames per second. (60 frames per second is perfectly smooth gameplay, 30-40 is good, but it may lag when a lot is happening on-screen). However, i will admit that not only console games are prone to slowdown. The PC version of GTA 4 is crap even on a good enough PC. And you are right, two worlds was crap.
You don't see the movie industry always compare movies to Avatar, Titanic, The Godfather, Star Wars, etc.. So why does the gaming industry do that? It's called Thinking Outside the Box. Try it sometime, game developers.
MAG is so much better than Mw2.. Barely any lag, when i say barely i mean i sitll lag but not as much as Mw2 OR black ops. black ops i have been disconnected, unable to start matches, timer stops at 1 second 3 seconds or looking for player for about an hour. I swear to god Zipper needs to make a MAG 2 Better guns better everything. Its the only game that can support so many people with no lag and is still fun.
MAG was such a great game but it never got popular enough or enough team players which made it kinda of boring. it was always apain when your doing good trying to get the objectives and you turn aroudn and see your team hidding behind boxes and walls

@thereviewer1234 i believe that you are the douche bag, as i did not buy my PC to only play Crysis, but also COD Black ops, F.E.A.R 3 and more. Plus, the PC is a better long term investment as multiplatform games are usually cheaper on it.

Apparently you didnt realize that when you bought your mulit thousand dollar computer when you couldve gotten a lot cheaper machine for less than $500. So its a win for me, and loss for you

But highest settings for a game could maybe easily crash a pc and yet the game is still the exact same for the consoles, except the graphics. If i was a graphics whore i would have a pc but im not, so i bought something a lot cheaper unlike you

@thereviewer1234 running a game highest settings will NOT crash a PC. even if your PC has no graphics card, you can still put the game on max settings, but you will get 1 frame per second. Also, console versions tend to be more prone to slowdown, just check out the ps3 version of The Orange Box. And i am not a graphics whore, i also play StarCraft, Diablo 2, F.E.A.R, Serious sam and other old games like that.

@Ext3rmin8er101 but you probably bought a pc mainly for the graphics, right? and if your right, the pc wont crash, instead it'll have 1 frame per second. practically the same thing. and slowdown? what, like lag? ive never played the orange box so i dont know if you're even right. but every game i've played had no "slow down", except for the piece of crap Two Worlds.

@thereviewer1234 Having 1 frame per second in a game is not the same thing as it crashing. It just means that the game will lag. "Slowdown" refers to a games' framerate dropping below 30 or so frames per second. (60 frames per second is perfectly smooth gameplay, 30-40 is good, but it may lag when a lot is happening on-screen). However, i will admit that not only console games are prone to slowdown. The PC version of GTA 4 is crap even on a good enough PC. And you are right, two worlds was crap.

MAG is so much better than Mw2.. Barely any lag, when i say barely i mean i sitll lag but not as much as Mw2 OR black ops. black ops i have been disconnected, unable to start matches, timer stops at 1 second 3 seconds or looking for player for about an hour. I swear to god Zipper needs to make a MAG 2 Better guns better everything. Its the only game that can support so many people with no lag and is still fun.

@JayXombie I've played the game a good 10 hours. I was really hoping to get into it, but I couldn't. I fucking hate Modern Warfare 2, it's overrated as shit. I'm a Fallout person, but still. This game's not a 4/5. Maybe it's deserves higher than a 2/5, but it's definately not a 4/5.

@NatePoky I agree, CoD makes me sick, honestly. I play MAG for the quantity, not quality. I also play it because I have a really fun clan that keeps me entertained 24/7. Of course this game is not 5/5 or even 4/5. Maybe it really IS a 1/5, but Zipper was the first to get on the idea of 256 players, and I applaud them for it, even if it turns out a flop.

@marchisballin11 wow dumass i shoot snipers in the head and it takes 2 all they got is a ski mask on and .22 is a small bullet onlt to be beat by the .17 which is smaller and the pistols are 9mm no? so its a bigger caliber which means less clip space but for a cal. 3x a 22 and still have more rounds per mag. if thats not the definition of BS i dont know what is

In other shooters e.g. socom , i wish i get urban wasteland because i love the hostage room, the yellow building, etc. It makes the maps likable whereas in mag i did not get that feeling, i have played mag alot and i dont like its maps. My opinion ..
