  • nice!

  • just sheer brilliance

  • whats this song?

  • brilliant

  • lmfao i was so getting into the music, even found myself swaying back and forth, then 0:45

  • great video!

  • GREAT AD, ppl who dislike dont know class!!!!

  • @Radical69

People that dislike, would like to actually hear the insttruments portrayed, Commercial is a farce.

  • the instruments are real, and they play with them. you can search and learn more about the compositor and the instruments

    .

  • My Dad played in this commercial 0:38. Most of the musicians were playing the real instruments, but some like my dad, pre recorded the music and just pretended to play the car parts.

  • it's fake.

  • It's wonderfull! Without any words..

  • ...fake...

  • @LOKIUNCIA It's real, u are just jealous of this brilliant commercial.

  • the guy who smashes the glass is awesome

  • Irony: A guy with A.D.D. driving a Ford Focus.

  • i bought this car for 15000 saudi riyals here in riyadh saudi arabia ...its second hand scratch free and best condition

  • It is the most beautiful commercial, I've ever seen! By the way, the car is a lot more better than others in its class. The handling, the acceleration (even the diesel versions), the way it looks... Just perfect!

  • WHAT A WANDERFUL

  • read the info they are real

  • are the instruments actually real? music sounds amazing but it looks faked, like the windscreen wipers on the strings... suspicious?

  • yeah it's all real, that's the point of the advert to be beautifuly arranged.

some parts have been modified i.e the windscreen wiper would have whatever is needed to make the noise rather than a bit of rubber and the guitar at the beginning has had frets placed on it and lets not forget the strings

  • do you know ford commercial where they have people arranged to make a car??

    so...cool...

  • 아이디어 정말 좋네~ 이런게 진정광고지 굿~

  • what's the name of the song in this advert?

  • moving

  • they know what they're doing!

  • Fun to watch, creative. But still won't get me to buy a ford.

  • I have to agree, the ad's too good for the car..

  • OMG! That just blew my mind! ....

  • that's so cool but it doesnt make me wanna EVER own a ford EVER

  • European Fords are Better than US Fords. So reconside

  • I want that guitar...

  • What's the name of the song ?

  • You wont find the song... It was played by their made instruments especially for this

  • ode to a ford

  • this is the old one >=( and i cant find the new one they played on the blue car.

  • Samee !

  • ötv indirimiyle ford focus aldım çok memnunum herkese tavsiye ederim

  • might as well had been a volkswagen beetle hehehe, nice ad

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Does Anyone know the name of the music used in the new version of this advert?

It looks like they used much of the same footage filmed duing this shoot but mixed it with different music.

  • Its been widly said that they used the car parts to create the sound... Sorry to say it, But thats utter bull. Sonicly its damn near impossible with the designs they have come up with. And youll never get a string to vibrate correctly by running a windscreen wiper across it. The rubbers simply too thick and too flimsy.

Its obviously been recorded in a studio using real instruments and staged with actors who can mime music. [Be it rather badly. Mimed]

  • Essentially if the stringing/basic constructs of the instruments were intact it would work, the only thing is the housing/material is different.

Some instruments shown in this do make me think if it was done in a studio, but we'll never know..

  • Then how do you explain the professional musicians who claim to have been in the studio recording the overdubs? Were they all paid to remain silent? Could it be a vast conspiracy?

Look, I've tried the wiper on a cello string trick. It works quite well. Too thick and too flimsy? Pick one or the other, then try to make some sense out of it. You'll fail. Rubber can make a string vibrate just like rosined horse hair.

  • It could, but where does the sound come from? I don't see a 'soundbox'(thats how we call it in Holland) at the cello and other stringed instruments.

I do like this music thou... Perfect symphonic harmonies!

  • Well just watch the "New Ford,BEFORE OVERDUB" here on Youtube and you can hear what it sounded like before dubbing the orchestral music. Sounds pretty funny, but they had to have an idea of the song to "Play to." I think you'll enjoy it. It really sounds hideous but that's what they really sonded like before the dubbing. HAhahaha

  • that one isnt real, you philistine

  • lol errrr no.

  • whats the name of the tune?

  • that is hot!

  • are ye sure the music is actually played by the parts not just a recording?

  • yes >> fact

  • It sounds like Danse Macabre at the beginning only. Think it`s very clever to play a tune on genuine car parts, though. It`s a nice melody

  • anyone know what this music is called

  • this is jonathan creek music !

    ....

  • I thought that as well; an arrangement of the Danse Macabre.

  • Note to composer: melody is very similar to Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens, or is that just me. Apart from that it's quite impressive they managed to make tonal music from car parts

  • I'm wondering, from which part of the car come the strings.

  • the live performance is so out of tune

  • Breathtaking.

  • i really want the mp3 for this

  • what way to promote a rock band saxon the lead singer playing a guitar the one and only pete biff byford not george doering he maybe playing the music it looks nothing like him

  • bellisimo lastime, its a ford wakala

  • Anyone know the ford commercial with the guy pulling words off the top of the tv or something like that :|

  • i got a ford focus...and it's damn beautiful :D

  • wank advert. on EVERY tennis break for the UK's US Open coverage. I'm soooooo sick of it. Sky need to sort it out.

  • Brilliant & sophisticated -- unlike the dumb, dumber, dumbest genre of most commercials. Nice music too.

  • I love this music nice :)

  • yeah i agree does sound like danse macarbre,,,,or as otha people may know it....the music from jonathan creek

  • It does have a Saint-Saens theme to it. I was wondering why the theme sounded so familiar.

  • at the start of the advert, there is a man with white hair playin the guitar. can anyone tell me who that is. a name or first or second name.? cheers

  • the guy is GEORGE DOERING brilliant guitarist. found that out from the car music project website. The top guy is bill milbrodt.

  • the play the guitar maybe george doering but the guy in the the ad is biff byford lead singer of saxon this come a good sourse mainly byfords newphew

  • sounds like Camille Saint-Saens La Danse Macabre

  • is this music available to buy on CD does anyone know? If not, why not? It is beautiful! Thanks SAOW

  • It is a bit more practical and spacious than the first MkI Ford Focus which was cramped in the back and was only fit for the shopping with it's compact boot.

  • absolutely fabulous!

  • lmao

  • genius! pure genius!!! does anyone know the actual title of this piece?

  • Ode to a New Ford composed by Craig Richey.

  • Sounds a hell of a lot like the Midsomer Murders theme in places :P

  • incredible sound!!!anyone knows the title????

  • The bows aren't really from a Focus: you can tell because the Mk2 has used flat wiper blades.

  • incredibile.le grande focus

  • when i watched hollyoaks in the adverts i would start huming it and then it would come on it was realy scary lol

  • hört sich guut an

  • Yeah great but why rip off the music from Jonathan Creek. And that smug tit on the guitar.

  • yes it was fun, have a great day n good luck in all u do xxx

  • well, its counter productive to get wound up, never solves anything, if u remember u started this, heres the finish, good day to ya

  • deary me what a pair we are!!!! ok your right it nevers solves anything, but it was fun!

ps, i had a nose at your account and how could i ever dream of contradicting a die hards pouges fan, mr mcgowan is a genius by far, thats intelligent....X

  • thank you very muchley severina, many ppl don't actually believe they are instruments, thats y i typed it, and, adverts quickly get shortened, as they have, have a great day

  • thats to you sevrina

  • ok i know its to me, im not claimimg to be a clever shit, but if you look, at the start of the advert its written, PLAYED ON ACTUAL CAR PARTS!!!!!!! also you spelt my name wrong.

  • and btw, typing ur name wrong eh? oh abundant apologies, however ur obviousy mega intellihgent n got it tho, opps, mispelt intelligent, naughty me

  • god, i really wonder how people get so wound up, i dont think im particualry intelligent nor did i claim to be, yes you spelt it wrong, who the fuck cares i was just being sarcastic back at you, and sarcasim is deffinatly a fav thing of yours, now just drop this, i was teasing, the advert is pretty obvious and i was not being smart.

  • who is the girl a 0.33

  • Can someone tell me which ad agency made this advertising and is it worldwide ad? thanks!!

  • Why do Ford always copy people? The Mondeo looks like a Lexus, the new Focus and soon to be Fiesta mk7 looks like a Peugeot and their trying to copy Honda with their clever adverts! They failed copying the Germans so their now trying the Japanese!!!!!

  • What is this song called?

  • It sounds like a variation of Dans Macabre, but Im probably wrong

  • Those instruments were on display in Geneva... Great!

  • the instruments r actually car parts too

  • sorry, but thats the whole point of the advert...duuuuuuuuhhhhhhh!!!!

  • yep but some ppl don't know that, not all r clever shits

  • you'll have seen her on some of the concerts on tv, think thats where i have b4

  • can anyone tell me who's the girl at 00:16? i know that face but cant remember where i saw it.

  • she is a freelance cellist in LA. Vanessa

  • she works for cbbc also se is on a programme called sorry i have got no head which is cbbc's commedy show

  • billy connolly

  • sounds like my belly when I need a big massive shit

  • i love this spot

  • the song good

  • such a rip-off of the Honda adverts. shameful stuff.

  • soz crceek is supposed to say creek lol

is it the jonathan creek song tho?

  • Yeah its the jonathan creek theme tune.

    Called 'danse macabre'

  • Thanks ive been wanting to download that for a while!

    sfe

  • please repply as soon as possible please but who sings/plays it?

  • Im not too sure, sorry. Think there will be loads of different version tho.

  • It was composed for the advert, no download of yet I dont think.

  • I don't think it's danse macabre... which is the theme tune to Jonathon Creek. It sounds like it at first but it's not the same :)

  • is this the jonathan crceek song?

  • A mistake? The new ford focus doesn't have side indicators, they are on the wing mirrors. At 00:20 it shows that it does have indicators on the body panel. So it's the old Focus front wing.

  • stupenda...in genere nn m piacciono qst tipi d canzonoi ma qst m ha proprio catturato...è bellixm

  • his is the coolest car commercial i've ever seen. So thanks for putting it here. :)

  • what song are they playing

  • Sweet! See you at the Columbus Ohio AutoShow starting March 8th, 2008. John Zarlino Internet Sales Manager Bob-Boyd Lincoln Mercury

  • Sweet! See you at the Columbus Ohio AutoShow starting March 8th, 2008. John Zarlino Iternet Sales Manager Bob-Boyd Lincoln Mercury

  • great advert, and apparently its for real, it was actually played on car parts

  • The first time I heard this music I thought it sounded like a typically English murder mystery theme tune of some sort. Why does the smash not occur in the advert? or did I miss it!

  • dude on the guitar part at the beginning looks like a clean shaven Billy Connolly

  • that's 'cos it IS a clean shaven Billy Connolly

  • Thanks for that dude, I can now win a bet with the wife. One in the eye for her.

  • yee haa! score one for the bad guys! (although i'm not condonin' any violence towards the missus). i was lookin' for a link to back up my previous claim there but can't find it mentioned anywhere. i know i read about it in the metro last week though

  • Actually it's Mike Rutherford

  • oh really? hahaha u sure? oops! my bad!

  • No it f*cking isn't... :D

  • isn't what/who? billy connolly or mike rutherford?

  • omg This sounds so much like the Jonathan Creek music! Is it?

  • That's exactly what I thought. The Jonathan Creek song is part of a much longer song called "Danse Macabre" - look it up. Although it is similar, I don't think that is the exact one, as it says "Ode to Ford" at the beginning, which is I'm guessing the name of the song :)

  • Thanx. =D I'm glad it's not JC, that music used to scare me when I was little.

  • Really? I loved it! And still do ^_^

  • =D Yeah, but I secretly started watching all the episodes on here but stopped a while ago. Not really sure why, tho... I'll probably start again. =) lol

  • Apparently so. I didn't believe it either, but there are some films on the Ford website that show how they did it.

  • Great advert. i just want to know if you could actually play those instruments, cos that would be freaking awesome! I want to play my cello with a windscreen wiper!!!

  • very nice tune

  • whats that song called ?

  • love the music, love the ad and if i ever buy one, i'll saw it up and make all the instruments and try to learn to play it. probably won't happen though - lifes too short

  • Beautiful. I love it.

  • RE: brunotravers

You clearly have no understanding about marketing's influences. This advert is clever and conveys the style of the car as well as subliminally dictates the type of buyer.

Also it's not an "England" thing either. If it was anything at all, it would be a "British" thing... being that these adverts are played in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales too. Most "ridiculous" car adverts are mostly by French car manufacturers (Pergeot, Renault)

  • I agree with you and I have long felt this about car ads, but the fact is that the Net has changed the nature of advertising forever. Ford could run a 30-second ad of a man taking a dump in a toilet with a smooth voiceover saying "You can have double this level of pleasure in a Ford", and so long as they show the URL at the end of it, anyone interested can go online to find out more. Many of Honda's recent ads didn't even show the car itself, that's how much things have changed in car adverts!

  • great exaple of how ridiculous car advertising has become in england......

    ITS JUST A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THAT is a good car comercial! That makes me want to go out right now and buy another focus with all the money I dont have... :(

  • I want it!

  • Please some one tell me what the song is???

  • song was composed for the ad composer was Craig Richey and its called 'Ode to a Ford'

  • just as the tag shown, it is simply "beautifully arranged". love the music a lot and the idea. how clever. it seems like the automobile industry's competition is going to the next level.

  • hey i cant see mcgyver overthere. :D

  • Wow, impressive, great song and really innovative

  • This advert's music sounds so much like Apocalyptica's songs!

  • ez annyira jó reklám :D

  • j adore ...

  • Nice car but did the guy had to smash the glass good thing it is not my car.

  • song?

  • ford made it lol

  • does anyone else know where can i find this record.

  • Yeah, it's off Metallica's 'Ride The Lightning' album

track 13, "Trapped Under Ice" XD

  • yeah i found it man, thanx

  • does anyone else think this sounds like jonathan creek music ? :P

    love xoxo

  • i do

  • Really embarrassing rip off of Honda. The agency staff writing the ridiculous comments make me blush but I am most embarrassed for the naïve client who signed off such a lemon.

  • How is it a Honda rip off? Their choir ad featured people sounding like the car, cog had the car parts working like clock work, this ford ad takes the car parts and shows that you can make music out of them. I accept it's not as good as the honda ads, but to say it's a rip of is just not true.

  • I was referring to the look, feel and general 'aftertaste', which is Honda through and through (just, sadly, a poor version).

    ...not the literal content.

  • ford 4 ever

  • Derivitive, strategy-free nonsense. Did no-one at Ford say to the agency, "Gee guys, do you think this feels a bit like a Honda advert..."

  • very nice film, especially like the ending

  • Nice! The instruments look like they are by that guy in Car Music Project.

  • exactly, there were built by Bill Milbrodt of the Car Music Project
