German tools :) licks lips. I wish I could fill my toolbox with all German made stuff. I have some knipex and want some wera but good god those Germans they have a level of respect for tools and maintenance nobody else seems to appreciate. Its like aviation maintenance on cars. Oh well at least i can get the stuff i have replaced easily and its good enough for me
@madcityEP Audi will do full ILMC program this year. ILMC is for Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (stupid name for a championship). You probably meant full ALMS season. The schedule includes Sebring, Petit. Le Mans is also part of it. Rest of the rounds are from LMS and one in China.
@madcityEP yes, it is basically rear wheel drive, mid engine concept, the most beautiful car layout and it has not changed much since days of Rumpler tropfenwagen / Benz tropfenwagen. It makes sense to place heaviest part of car (engine) in the middle.
Anyone think Kristensen will win next year. If he keeps up his streak of losing 2 Le Mans after his last win, next year would be the time he would win again.
2005
2008
2011?
hmmm, might happen all depends on the rule changes and what's to come in '11 preparing for '12 when the biggest chances will really happen
One thing that bugs me about Tom Kristensen in the #7's move passed that BMW. I know he was committed to the outside line before the BMW moved there, but that should have been done a little more carefully. He should have slowed down to 100 mph, let the BMW make the decision which lane to go, spared 3 seconds, and he wouldn't fall 2-3 laps back. I love his record breaking wins but that was too early in the race to be going like a bat out of hell. He would have won the race if he slowed up.
if Peugeot didn't blow their engines, this sucker would have finished third. Talk about luck. Audi didn't beat them on speed alone, but they stayed a 1 lap down until Montagny's car went to hell at 7:05 am in France. I couldn't believe those French cars blew up, still can't believe it, I have to admit, I'm glad Audi won but I wish the Peugeot finished with at least one car in second or third. I cried in happiness at the clean sweep. Pure luck went into beating Peugeot.
Peugeot just out-did themselves. the Bourdais car going out 2.5 hours into the race was really disappointing I don't know whether Lamy's 150 mph driving forced that suspension member to ultimately pull out of the tub but it didn't help either. Davidson was really ridiculous in his driving seriously. He went like hell and should have been more careful going by the Corvette without the guy spinning.
I see what you mean Blue Fellow. I didn't pay attention to the labels of the drivers on this car. My bad. I thought you just meant the car make in general which last year was just highest running R15 in third vs. highest 1st overall. Yes, it's disappointing to me that the 7 had that bad luck with Kristensen - uncharacteristic and misjudging mistake that cost Kristensen a 9th victory. Only four days since the race and I'm ready for next year. Haha.
AUDI WINS LE MANS 2010 !!!!!!!!! CLEAN SWEEP !!!!!!!! ^^ Rockenfeller's team 1st place, 2nd place I dunno the drivers, 3rd place Kristensen, Capello, and McNish, check out s p e e d t v . c o m for the breakdown.
I remember in '07 when Rocky crashed the 3, he was absolutely dejected and felt so horrible about it so I'm glad Audi Sport North America kept him on board for the years to come. I knew he would win Le Mans, once Werner, Pirro, and Biela were done at the Audi LMP1 squad, I didn't think Fassler, Treluyer, and Lotterer would win - still in rookie stages. Dumas as a Frenchman was well overdue. Thought dumas would win with the Pescarolo, but didn't happen.
that was the R15 - this is the R15 plus - they had to make changes since last year due to Peugeot's complaints and the handling was just awful - this is the new one for sure
@ratzinator1 They had to make changes for the 2010 regulations which the 2009 car did not fit. Peugeot was right in complaining because why should Audi not have to follow the regulations.

I like how at 3:50 you can see its almost an F1 car :)
I just wish audi would start doing full seasons again, tho I do enjoy the privateer racing teams that have come out of this economy.
