NOBODY needs to open it from other side. you can MAKE your own card using a CASSETTE.. In a cassette the tape is magnetic too- instead of Music you use Data and when you swipe it plays. Think of the DOOR box he swiped- as a Cassette Player Head. Instead of the card swipe making the noise. You hookup "leads" and get same effect... Electronics are VERY Easy!

that's because they did. magstripe door locks don't throw the door open when the card is verified, it just unbolts the lock so you can open the door. Duh.

Nicely done... But the only problem is that you still have to get the data that opens the door to encode it in a sound file. But still, nice ;-).

Not really, interfacing a standard magstrip head to a mono audio cable, you can swipe track 1 & 2 and record the magnetic flux to PC .WAV File Audio Recording. You Then can easily play back the recording to an external magstrip reader feeding it the duplicated sequence of magnetic flux to the reader. Now a true Brute Force wouldn't rely on a duplicate card but one that sends many attempts until it finds the correct sequence and you're in. =]
