  • Steve, this was very useful. Ignore the morons, and keep making videos.

  • I actually found your video helpful. I can't believe how many pathetic individuals there are who hide behind their computer screens and write petty nasty comments about how many computers you or THEY have and how you opened the packaging. You are way better than them, thanks for sharing. :)

  • when you struggled with that small piece of tape did you use a butter knife?

  • Comment removed

  • When Using a Knife (or a Really Big Knife such as what your using in your video) Remember to cut away from yourself. At one moment i thought you were going to remove one of your finger. Otherwise great VID.....

  • Alright, so when I go to college, the dorm rooms have a wired Ethernet connection (It's a single room).

I was thinking... have that wire running to the AirPort Express, my Laser Printer via USB, so I can share Internet with my MacBook, iMac, PC, Laptop and iPhone.

Question1 is.. Can I use a (powered) USB hub and connect 2 printers to share wirelessly? (Laser and InkJet).

Question2.. Is there a way that I can use the Ethernet cable through a hub/switch to power the PC's internet ?

    Thanks

  • 1) my macbook 2) my sisters imac 3) my dad's computer 4) my mom's laptop 5) my dog's laptop

  • We've got a ton of computers, but only 6 up-and-running right now: my 2008 iMac, my bro's 2009 iMac, my mom's/sister's 2008 iMac, my dad's 2008 Mac Pro, and his 90's somethin running OS 8! XD

  • Should have gotten the extreme then you wouldn't have to get a wireless card for that one computer, it can just go straight into Ethernet.

  • NO 1 CARES HOW MANY COMPUTERS U HAVE SO SHUT UP

  • a shame that this is the only one that can streams music wirelessly!

  • omg nobody cares what computers u have

  • MOAR ZOOM PLX!!!

  • can you set it up if you don't have a router to begin with???? I just have the broadband plug comin out of my phone jack in the wall

  • @jarl1985 Yes you can, you don't need a previous network to set this up. Just make sure you turn on the Wi-Fi on your computer so your computer can detect the Airport Express.

  • lo the finger on your desktop looks like its the grudge's finger...:P

  • tell me please why you change from de lynkis to the airport express, what kind of benefits do you hav?

  • Knife seems a little dull haha.

  • Im going to china soon and Do not want to take my laptop, i might be purchasing this airport express and also either an ipad or ipod touch. But in China, it isnt common to have wifi in Hotels only ethernet. And obviously you can't connect cable to an ipad or ipod touch. So i was wondering if i can buy this airport express, set it up at home and configure the router settings, then when i go to china turn it on, pop in the cable and then it should appear on my ipad as a connection also for others?

  • @Smallie7 yes that will work fine, however you may have to set up a new wireless network whenever you plug a new ethernet into the bottom of it, but you might be fine

  • why did you take the tape off, then out it back on, then cut it ?

Your are stupid, plus you didnt even need a knife to cut anything there, i ripped mine off with complete ease !

  • do i have to have a modem for all the airport wireless internet thingys?

  • I already have a Netgear wireless router, b/g compliant. However, i want airtunes and be able to print wirelessly. I have some questions though. First, do i just plug an ethernet cable from my existing router straight into the express? second can I print from non-mac machines? and thirdly, can I by other expresses to dot round the home to stream music to them? or do i need an ethernet cable to be connected to each?

    Thanks for any help :)

  • So in essence, you can plug a printer's usb cbale into the router and you can basically print from anywhere within the wifi range?so basically this router can allow "AirPrint" without an airprint capable printer?

  • I don't care about opening it O.o

  • Are you guys rich or something?

  • пидарас ёбанный

  • My brother said he wanted one of these for his birthday. I told him I would get him a refurbished one and every time I checked the Apple store online they always had the refurbed ones in the store. And the night I wanted to order one its not there :/

  • can you set it up to where you don't need to plug in an ethernet cable after you set it up? Just simply plug in wall socket and use? I want to extend my wireless network and add an airport express to a room that doesn't have any ethernet jacks or modems

  • u put the things too close to the camera!

  • from your actual routerfor example bt or linksys could u connect an ethernet cable to it please answer if anyone answers ill subscribe to them

  • CUT AWAY FROM YOUR SELF

  • Does the ethernet cable have to come directly from the modem or would it also work if it comes from the modem to the router and then to the airport express ?

  • ok, I had a router from time warner cable, they fixed it for me

but I cant remember if they used to setup a password

  • Hey great video =)

  • Did you get that blade from your moms room??

  • Hi , my connection is about 4.00 mbps , Does it increase my internet speed? how much % does it increases? thanks

  • @josechepe80 It wont increase your internet speed, though it may increase the range of your Wi-Fi signal.

  • do you know if the nintendo wii is compatible with it?

  • not cool, apple. (Lol!)

  • anyone else notice the knife he used to open the box??? Looks like he uses it to kill people in their sleep o.O

  • @dabraham03 not with that cutting edge

  • i have a usb broadband will it work with this if i hook it up in the in usb port?

  • Can i use it just in my bedroom? Or do I need to use the internet router? The signal in my room is poor. I wanted something so that i could wireslley play music from my laptos/iPod touch to my stereo...

  • @TPxDDD using this can extend the connection in your room but you want to place it where it gets both bad connection but at the same time get close to the router so i can be faster on the airport express

  • save us all the talk n go straight to the point

  • the tap came off and she put it back the cut it.?

  • Hello, and thanks for this video. I have a question I hope you can answer.

I purchased a Mac Air a year ago. All of a sudden the USB port stopped working. In a Mac Air, there is only ONE USB port, so as you can imagine, I can't back up any of my things to my external hard drive, add books to my Kindle, etc. I see that with the airport express there is a usb port. Can I hook up my external hard drive to it? Or my Kindle and have it work with my comp? Hope question is not to sillly.

    Thnx

  • hello, just want to ask if you can bring it anywhere, where your computer where the utility software is left behind, in houses etc. And if airport extreme capable of wired and wireless. Because I have pc that do not have wifi

  • quite a good video for a girl

  • Can I put an ethernet from it to my xbox?? I already have a wireless network.

  • do you need a modem in order for it to connect to any computer?

  • i have a couple questions.

    1. do you need to have a wireless or wired internet connection? like must you have an internet plan for this to work or can you take it anywhere even without internet and it will work?

    2. if i have another type of laptop? do i need the wirless chip inside of it to work?

  • lot of computers!!! nice vid!!! :)

  • hey err quick question, can i connect it to my router (same as urs) into an airport express nd printer nd music? but not the modem cable, just a connection from 1 of the four ethernet ports? nd do u knw hw to connect it up to a pc, coz i dnt hav a mac sadly.

  • hey dude can you explain 2 me what the fuck it does?

  • @alexxjones1 lol it is a wireless router but only wireless not wired internet connection. if you are looking for both wired and wireless connections, you will need an airport extreme.

  • @italkapple123 WRONG! you can connect it wirelessly to your network and then connect a computer to the express via ethernet.

  • @italkapple123 But it can also stream music from iTunes if you hook them up to a set of speakers

  • @italkapple123 so i don't need a cd drive to set it up??

  • @alexxjones1 It also lets you share printers and wirelessly stream music.

  • @alexxjones1 it creates wifi dude
