big guard is essental 4 this fight. maybe if u slow down the time in the menu on the config it may give u an easier chance. thts wot i did and it worked. i told my m8 and it worked 4 him 2. also hv aeris, and a cure on another member of the party :) gd luk in the future! :)
I have big guard, aeris' healing wind, cloud's climhazard, vincent's gillian beast and still got my ass handed to me and all my members levels were about 32. I used the limit breaks like crazy, I used the summons, big guard and still lost
Truly in my opinion the best place to train is just off the road of wutai, i beat this boss easier because i was like level 30-40 when i came across this evil wall.... it still hit me hard, but the higher HP and strength stats i had made me victorious...
This boss was such a nightmare the first time heh. But the dragons that you can fight right before this is easy xp. Demi+all on 4 dragons or so kills them all with one blow.
I think I was overleveled when I fought this guy. I killed him with one Meteorain attack. So next time I fought him without levelling up so much and he was a tough one but still not enough to cause too much pain. Good effort though.
yeah, not having barrier/haste/slow/regen hurt. DG is also immune to poison and earth (hence deadly waste/m-tentacles/bio/titan are ineffective). it also has a ridiculous magic defense; that's why basically none of your magic did any real damage except bahamut.
Better luck next time. I don't remember this fight too well since it's been years since I've played FFVIII. Keep at it. At least it won't take you 8 tries to finally beat it I hope. xD

@E55EXG1RL not necessarily, since his attacks are primarily physical i believe barrier will suffice, easy to buy

Demons Gate has a high magic defense. Spells such as Fire2, Trine and the like will be somewhat useless against him.

I think It's a 1/8 chance to get Fat Chocobo, and it deals like 10% more damage.

Beach Plugs can be found on the beach outside Gongaga if I recall correctly. I guarantee you can find them on the beaches around Costa Del Sol.
