I'm telling you, handball is the real deal for big men to learn early on. The two best guard-like Big Men in NBA history both played handball growing up: Dirk Nowitzki and Hakeem Olajuwon. If you think your child is going to be huge, involve him in handball early!

I'm not going to rate Dirk as a Top 10 all time player because, frankly, he is not. He is a nightmare matchup at the 2 because of his height, shooting, and versatility. He can post up, he can face up, he can score going to the bucket or falling away, and he hits big shots. He can score from anywhere on the court, and therefore is able to spread out defenses. He is a top 10 all time player on offense. His lackluster defense is why I can't put him on my top 10 all time

Mark Cuban needs to get the right pieces together like getting Chris Paul to Dallas which still has hope in itself and get a swingman. Cuban should have done a better job in the offseason to get other players to Dallas. I would have liked to see Matt Barnes in a Mavs uniform this season.

Ya right, Dirk would be in the same position he's in now if he joined the Utah Jazz. Even with Deron Williams and newly acquired Al Harrington, the Jazz wouldn't be able to contend with the Lakers. Dirk can lead any team that he wants because he's that good. Just like LeBron has to prove, no one player can do it alone, and the same goes for Dirk. And the Spurs? Really?
It still wouldn't match up in a SEVEN game series. Utah wouldn't have the stamina to contend with the Lakers. The Lakers definitely have a better bench currently especially with Steve Blake leading the second unit. When did Orlando come into the mix? If you put Dirk in Orlando, who goes away or goes to the bench? Rashard Lewis? Not with his contract. And once again, Dirk wouldn't fit in Popovich's system, it just wouldn't work.
I do believe he is the best non-U.S. basketball player of all time. I think Hakeem Olajuwon would be a close second. He just needs two more wins. Let's GO MAVS!

Damn, Dirk needs to work on driving the ball like he used to back in the day. its like they asked him to work only on his shooting and to stop driving the ball. if he could drive the ball in and keep shooting the way he does than he would be an great wellrounded overall player.

Let's face it, Dirk will NEVER win an NBA title with Dallas. Either he leaves the team, or finishes his career empty handed. Simple as that.

I think a lot of people get suspicious of a white basketball player that is good. People will think that a white player is always going to be overrated. Stats don't lie. He deserved everything he worked for. I think it is got to be hard.... all the things people say, and playing in a game that is dominated by black athletes. I give him credit.
