any recommendations for gloves that have really good grip/latex?? all the pairs that ive had have become virtually useless in terms of grip in around two months
@squashdudes Hi mate, out of all the gloves I've used the best for me have been reusch and uhlsport. You have to make sure that you take proper care of your gloves too. Using gloves that are specifically designed for wet conditions in hot weather and not keeping them moist will cause them to wear out much faster than if you used them in the conditions they're designed for.
Hey I'm goalkeeper for Swansea city AFC in in the under 12s anybody same age group or lower just ask for some tips what their about and I'll give you some tips
wow lots of shit comin at ya man from cmb and miqqie. that drill is not useless, it looks like it could really improve somebodies goalkeeping skills. great job!
This isnt useless. This is a great drill for your hands. Its good for focusing on good technique while making a catch in a tricky position while in the air. And it is hard to hold on to them sometimes while making a dive so this looks like it would help confidence with your hands...and it looks cool come on! Lol
Youre already going to the corner, when the trainer did not kickt the ball.
He is trowing the ball to late also.
Now its just, jump, landing and diving to a corner.
When the trainer, throws the ball when your jumping, then its much more the reflex.
For the keeper: try to dive forwards, and your punching almost everything, be more confident and try to keep the ball with you. Even when you are tired.
This drill conditions the goalkeeper as well as teaching anticipation. MiQQie when you're in a situation when there is little distance between the shooter and the goal you have no choice but to choose a side and try to anticipate where the shooter will place the ball. The goalkeeper in this drill already dives but will have his reflexes tested based on where the ball is going.
We did this drill at a bundesliga club in germany. Are you saying their training is useless? Maybe you just cant see
hi i'm 11 years old i am a goalkeeper too i live in canada i have played at the top level of soccer (Futbol) for my age i would just like to say that your videos have inspired me to continue to work hard and practice to try to try and fulfill my goals and dreams of becoming a professional goalkeeper so thank you and keep continuing to make videos once again thank you and good luck!
I cannot write about how to teach you to power step it is too difficult. You need to find a good coach to tell you how to do these things first. In the above video I do power step so that can be a rough guide but you really need a good coach to teach you properly.
ok so what your saying i need to start on my knees and then master it and then start diving with my right hand and pleas i realy neeed cause im in the final with my team and i want to get good
Start off on your knees to your left side and learn to land properly from your knees. Then work your way to starting on your feet and just drop to the ground and don't jump. After you've mastered those landings you are ready to power step.
i really need help diving to the right side can you help me and when defenders are in front of me and reacting to the ball can you help me or give me some tips and low shots. pleas reply
Make sure your landing technique is good first. Make sure you are using the correct foot to power step with. As I said to the above person start on your knees and work up to starting on your feet. Once you have that mastered you can focus on getting real height.
ok so i need the proper feet work so i can dive right its not my hand is i get stuck when i want to jump can you send me a video on how you teach on jumping
My Goalkeeping idol was Peter Schmeichel or Oliver Kahn. At the moment I think there are many good keepers out there and to single one out is hard. I love to watch Shay Given and Brad Friedel in the Premier League and I like Rene Adler and Robert Enke in the Bundesliga.
One further way to avoid harming your elbows is to stretch out your arms. That requires catching the ball in front of you (in your complete length of your arms) It is not easy to get used to it, but it works!
Besides: Vliegendekeep is right, if you land on the ball it supports not hurting your ellbows. In combination with stretching your arms you should not have any problems ;) Just practice, pratice, practice! :D
Make sure you are using the ball to guide and cushion your landing when you catch the ball. You should be landing on your side and remember you lead with your hands. Push to the ball. Keep your arms stretched out but not locked.
The form is ok, but the landing his landings are rough. The entire body shouldn't be landing as a whole unit. Rather, the arms should extend first, and then down, to allow the body to cradle into a smooth landing. The coach here is right. This all start with the amount of explosion you dive with. The more explosion, the better the landing.
The entire body isn't landing as a whole unit in this video. You can clearly see the landings are sequenced. You are telling people to land on their arms. That's not right. You can use the ball to cushion your fall. Landing on your arms first is asking for shoulder injuries.
Ok , I 've made a mistake. You are the best goalkeeper the greatest and the most incredible one. Are you pleased now ? Αντε τωρα βουλωσε το μη σου γαμησω κανενα σπιτι τρικαριωλο μουνοπανο , ξεκωλιαρη αρχιδαμε πουστροβιε τικιτανγκα
Come on to you man. Do you think I don't know what you're typing in Greek? It's pretty low to go and try to make your dick seem large on youtube. Now you just look like an idiot.
Goalkeeping is about repetition. You do the same stuff over and over. If you think basics are childish then I would suggest not ever training at everything because if you don't have the basics then you're going to be rubbish. There's a reason why people kick balls straight to Cech, Given and Van der Sar. Are you going to tell them their training is childish? Stop trying to show off on youtube and actually contribute something rather than being a douche.
You have no room to call this keeper training childish. Like he said it all the basic. I have seen many keeper that just want to make the fancy save and let up goal when they could have done the basic's and saved every shoot,
your criticism sucks, he's showing what he does for training, if he wanted to show you game performances, he'd just tell you to look up goalkeepers like casillas, buffon, schmeichel, van der sar, cech, etc.
anyways, im having a problem that when i have one of those hard shots that are at the other post.
let's say, im in the nearer the right post, and suddenly, an angled shot to the left one. one is supposed to use your right hand to tip it up-and-over the net.. well, i tend to use my left hand, and while high in the air, my body tends to rotate the other way, and i sometimes land on my back.
just got back into keeping and can remember being taught when diving you should push off using the leg the ball is closest to. for example... a shot comes in to your left hand-side, push off by putting more force into your left foot and your body shouldn't rotate... i don't know if this relates to your problem at all but hopefully it can help, cheers.
First of all u need to take one step and push off the foot closest to the ball and instead of letting the ball come to you, you need to push your body towards the ball. This is good for closing off hard angles such as the top corner.
Hey, I'm 18 and try to learn to dive. I've never had a gaolkeepertraining. I have one main problem. I think I dont know how to land in a good way. I try to land on my upperleg first, then hip, then shoulder, but my hips always hurt after a few dives. Do you have any tips for me?
i dont think i try to land on a certain point first, try to distribute the weight evenly, but bring my arms in, and low shots where my feet are on the ground, i probs land in that order anyway, harder and higher falls i try to roll out of but thats what i say when im typing, ill probably do sumthing different when playing lol but thats the best i can think of
You look really good I think my 2 weaknesses are staying focused in the game liek talking to my team and giving them instructions and my other is maybe being to flat-footed and not anticipating fast enough...any advice?
talking talk your team through the game watch the best teams there always talking, always shout at people with there first names not second names or nicknames as naturally they respond. aticipating ok ok its heard i know look at the strikers feet the side were his planted foot is pointing is the side normally where they shoot always be on your tous keep moving dont stand static any issues come talk to me im 13 by the way im quite good goalkeeper
Staying focussed through the game is a concentration issue that does not relate to talking to team mates. Focussing relates to tracking the ball and always being ready for a shot. Regarding talking to your team mates I suggest you go to a professional game and watch a 'good' keeper who communicates well with his players. Main commands in english are 'Push up', 'Keepers', 'Away', 'No shot', 'No cross' etc. This is about being aware. To improve it you can do a variety of things.
For being flat footed you need to always stay on your toes during training drills and during matches. Now I've seen a lot of goalkeepers being coached poorly and they believe that they are doing one thing wrong but it relates to something else. So I would suggest you have a detailed look over your whole technique and really critique yourself. But for being flat footed there is a drill I learned at FC Augsburg in germany. PM me if you want me to write it out for you.
wow just reading your comments and i do have problums with concentration at times. it sounds like you know what your talking about. keep up the good advice BFactah
thats good, it looks like that your weakness is to your right. i have the same weakness buy mine is diving to my left. is thier anyway i can improve my diving to my left.
i have a lil tip for the keep I have been playing professionally in spain and holland for past four years he is almost starting his take off too early i think he can handle the ball more if he times it with the shot
There are many you can do. However you need someone to kick the ball. Stand in the goal facing the net. Get the person to kick the ball from the 18 yard box and then turn around when you hear the sound of the ball being kicked and try to save the ball. That's fairly advanced. If you land, you have to push the ball (in your hands) at first to the ground. Than you can break your fall and don't hurt your elbow.
