I really like sting's interpretation of the renaissance ayre literature, but I hate his breathes. Not so much in this piece, but more so in "In darkness let me dwell". His deep breathes are just overwhelming in the musical silences. Otherwise I think he's doing awesome at everything else

This is such a dreamy song. Edin/Sting's interpretation makes you fall in love with falling in love. Sigh.

I can understand you, but it is a question of interpretation. That is how people used to express their feelings, then.

Lovely performance; not Dowland, however: poem by Ben Jonson; music by likely Robert Johnson.
There's a mistake in the first line, the meter is anapestic with nine syllables: Have you seen/but a bright/lilly grow, with a double alliterative.
Kudos to Sting for popularizing this piece.

Greatest simbolization I´ve ever heard. But I hardly know the original author of this piece.
