This is pure talent in action. i have tried many backhands but this one i revert to time and time again. It just works so much better than that loop crap people teach now.
I am so gonna practice hitting the ball this way. It seems like a beautiful- continuous-powerful stroke. It just flows, I just can't get used to the open stance but practice makes perfect.
@wozniacki15 I didn't know that but it seems like the open stance is better & faster. I still like Serena's backhand better since it seems to be more accurate & efficient. Both are incredible players though.
left footed back hand but for venus she starts slightly closed and uses her hips to rotate and he jumps slightly and uncoils her legs so she lands on her left foot
you mean her unusual technique of dropping her wrist on her backhand it might not look technically sound but by dropping her wrist she can get under low balls that some players can not even if they tried to ge under the ball as good as she does.
Through this shot, I can see that her backhand is seriously 80% due to her LEFT arm! BEAST!

you know you dont have to use open stance for venus's backhand you can use closed stance.

if you use a close stance, it ain't Venus's (or Serena's). 90% of their BHs are open stance
