Maybe his video was aimed at guys like me sho don't already know how this stuff is done, and aren't really looking for the physics behind the shot. Just a quick hint is good enough for us, and I thought he did that well enough. I'm surethe additional info you gave will be useful to me after I practice with the basics he gave. Thanks to both of you.
This guy's videos are garbage.

Yikes, not exactly a definitive guide.
I'll just give you a brief guide for those disappointed by this video.
Two Facts -
A stop shot is where the cue ball has no spin when it contacts the object ball.
When you hit the cue ball in the center the cue ball starts with no spin but the friction of the table turns it to a rolling ball instead of sliding.

Therefore you must match the speed, with the distance between OB and CB and the amount of draw (lower hit on CB) that is required.

@mtb2004uk well I was told by another user that a stop shot, was aimed in the center of an angle.

WOW! Where's the need for so much power in the shot? Why take the risk of not stopping it by adding so much unnecessary power?
Runoutman is right, buy a book martin.
Can't fucking believe this guy! Every video he has spoken nonsense! Expert Village my arse!!!

lol horrible the ball didn't stop where it was supposed to

A stop shot is not an " english" shot.
A stop shot really is when the cueball is not rolling or spinning when it hits the object ball.
