  • I am sure, that John could not play guitar, if bends would not exist

  • again this is just beautiful. after this how could rolling stone move john from ranked 18th on the greatest guitarists of all time to ranked 72, on the newly revised list.. thats bs.

  • GODS

  • This is better than all of I'm With You

  • @peteface24 fuck yes it is

  • @peteface24

    agreed

  • @peteface24 TOTALLY

  • 0:35 damn that was sexyyy........

  • I hate crap videos, but when i heard the beginning, i thought: "Maybe, when i put off this crappy video, I"ll miss another great jam from those 2 'masters of music'; and i don't want that."

    Who also thought this?

  • that was sweet

  • SO fucking amazing, i got goose bumps n tears r rollin frm my eyes.WOW!!!!

  • I think this was after John quit and they used Jesus as a stand in

  • @EilifSunde made me actually lol. haha

  • @EilifSunde

Silly fool, jesus and john are the same person.

  • @EilifSunde i hate it when ppl compare John to jesus, I mean he was pretty great an all, but he was no Frusciante...

  • @704billy1975 saw that coming but still got a chuckle out of me you bastard! :p

  • DAMN MY PANTS

  • Those are two spirits that were just meant to jam music together.

  • sex

  • That part at :35 seconds into it... when John catches Flea on the way down. THAT'S fucking wisdom. It just is.

  • @mussman717word - I couldnt agree more. I read your comment and thought I must have wrote it and forgot I did. How about at :53 when John says to flea 'come on....come on...I found where this is goin...follow me here", and then imparts his wisdom from :56 to 1:10 and then says "alright youve got it, Ive got a journey to go on now, hold it down, Ill be back bearing goods".

  • @jt101010

Yeah, I love that part. :)

  • the beginning of this sounds like some of the improv if heard john play during don't forget me live

  • their best jam

  • @ djpsyko55 Sounds like "permutation" from the snow (hey oh) EP which you can buy from itunes, just with a different ending. Anybody disagree?

  • @jlejr10

Permutation is just another Californication intro. This one is different from the others (constant) but beautiful as always (same here :).

  • great music, horrible video. what the hell, is that a 3 megapixel camera? lol actually it looks like its on the max zoom level

  • Comment removed

  • thank you for capturing this. awesome sound for the lil camera

  • John looks like jesus here.

  • @jrmytaylor no jesus looks like john. musical love making is what this video is. i wish i was there to witness this.

  • @justin10adson no - john IS jesus

  • I believe it's an intro to Californication ?

  • They just full on had sex with each other.

  • This sounds like Permutation by Red Hot Chili Peppers

    /watch?v=6S_K6SGsJDo

  • @wowprogamer1 permutation is a jam that mutates, so i would say that is spot on.

  • shit brought tears to my fucking eyes this is unreal

  • what a moment lets thank that it is on film, preserved. pickled

  • what scale is he playing in?

  • @mikzemaj probably pentatonic.. just play along it wouldnt be that hard to find

  • so UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL!!! I was almost in tears. John is the best as is Flea. AMAZING !! I so love and miss RHCP Please, Please come back to us!!!

  • i miss miss miss miss miss john frusciante

  • @dinster70

Why miss him? He has plenty of solo work to enjoy! And rumor has it, he's working on a new album.

  • @mikebey88 I think he means to say he misses the frusciante chili peppers.

  • Where was be this concert !?

  • fuck you flea, you are too good for me :(((

    We <3 FLEA!

  • too bad jon keeps leaving

  • john is a freak of nature

  • @Weshallnotrest1fan

    But we love him so

  • yeah i think it is the ds-2

  • im starting to believe its the ds-2 so confusing argghh. jsut bought a mxr micro amp and its not even that

  • @geletmote also his WH10 boosts too, could be it. Though I'm not really sure about that and how much a WH10 boosts. Maybe going to a guitar shop and testing it out would be the best way. Also you can't get his sound without most of his equipment. The amps make a big difference too. It's not like you plug some effects he uses into your amp and sound exactly like him. :D Also he can crank his volume up live, you usually can't do that at home or at rehearsals.

  • @S0uLPiece wh10 is the wah, thats used only for wah not boost.. however my amp is solid state, you think if i take the micro amp in the shop and try it on a tube amp it might be different your saying? Also my sound is very close to johns have most his pedal and a 15 watt practice amp haha honestly.. youd be surprised many people have sound your guitar sounds like johns

  • @geletmote tubes react different to effects like boosters than solid states, it's a totally different way of technology. Also the WH10 boosts a little bit and I know that it is a WAH-WAH mainly, but it can boost too. Not too much, but a bit. The same with a few Cry Babys (some have a switchable boost built in).

And you can't really compare a 15 Watt transistor amp to his gear, only the heads alone are worth ~ 5000 bucks or more and are really good quality. It makes a huge difference.

  • @geletmote I mean I use a 15 watt transistor too and if I play on the Marshall JCM800 of a friend or other good (and expensive) tube-amps you can really hear the big differences. It's like day and night. Even if you play on some cheaper tube amps it can make a difference. Especially if you can crank up the volume on such amps, it roars like a motherfuckin' lion! :D I once did and almost got thrown out of the shop, because it was too loud.

  • @geletmote the thing is that the final stage of a tube amp only gets pushed if you crank it up and/or boost it. A transistor or modelling amp just works the same all the way up, it more or less only gets louder. Howewer, a tube-amp changes the sound drastically. The solo @ the end of Paralell Universe live at Slane Castle is a good example. A lot of distortion (I think 2 pedals, or 1 dist and boost) and the volume all the way up. That's why he moves away from the center of the stage, because it

  • @geletmote would just create too much feedback. You hear it at the end, when the solo stops and he runs to his pedalboard to turn it off and you hear that really nasty sustained feedback.

  • @geletmote oh and another thing: If you look up his pedalboard to that time (there are quite some pictures) his Micro Amp always was just on the left of his two expression-pedals on the bottom of the right handside. And in the video you can see that he is pretty much stomping there. The next effect next to that was the Big Muff Pi, which can also give you extreme sustain and boost if you set it right (sustain all the way up, and tone down to not get it fuzzy). But I'm not really sure about that

  • @geletmote and of course: Do you use a tube amp or not? Most effects, especially boosters have a different effect on transistors/modelling amps than on tubes.

  • Don't know what to say. just... just... not human

  • amazing jam.......crap quality

  • this shit gives me a raging boner. OMG

  • Listened to this at night with the lights and screen off. You can choose to be stoned or not, i don't care, just listen to this in the dark.

  • this effect is probably his MXR Micro Amp, it's the first effect in his loop, he uses it as a 'booster' most of the time.

  • @S0uLPiece yeah im getting one, its gotta be it!

  • @S0uLPiece okay I my MXR micro amp arrives, I step on it playing on a clean channel like john here only to get nothing like what he does when he steps on a pedal.. Ive just realised its not the right pedal.. so guttered

I wonder which pedal it is still

  • @geletmote I'm pretty sure he doesn't use it with his clean-sound. He actually almost never uses a clean sound, he likes a 'grimy' sound as he said himself once. So he might have an overdrive or distortion (maybe just the amp dist) going on there too. Fact is, it is not a clean sound before he stomps on his pedal. It could also be his amp cranked up, which leads to more sustain and overdrive. Why don't you try it with a slight overdrive or cranked up amp first?

  • OMG where is this amazing concert at?

  • @MrPete187 The Forum..L.A

  • this gave me goosebumps!

  • i wanna get high while I listen to this

  • I can't stand crappy quality uploads, but this jam was beyond orgasmic and I completely forgot the sound quality.... so voila!

  • @kushley dude fuck the quality i think the eargasms i got from raping replay more than makes up for it

  • does any1 know what effect he pushes at 1:20? much appreciated

  • @geletmote Electroharmonix Big Muff =)

  • @bernich88 thanks but its not the big muff I have one I know, its some sort of booster

  • @geletmote some people are saying he pushes an mxr micro amp

  • @geletmote its called the magic john frusciante effect, you cant buy it in stores

  • sounds like one of the omar rodriguez jams john done with at one point

  • This is just ART, beautiful and pure ART. They really love music, you can feel it when you see this kind of things. I'll never meet them, but thanks, guys. Thanks for letting me be in the same world at the same time with you.

  • they had sex.... dang!

  • goose-bumps and just feel like i wanna' cry... to much awesomeness

  • Undescribable

  • I like the style of playing guitar John Frusciante, he's simple but unique

  • What is it in his guitar that makes me just wanna listen him forever?

  • @educassiano You want to know what's in his guitar that makes it that great?

    It's called passion.

  • @educassiano It's not the guitar it's John!

  • @IfearGuitars John is the guitar!!

  • @qwertyuioplmzaswq It's a cosmic thing.

  • this is so amazing sad !!

  • This is so amazing!! 14 people must have no feelings

  • musical sex, just amazing. everytime i hear one of their jams, it makes me pick up my guitar immediately and start playing. they're some of my inspirations.

  • @wh0aitzjames Very true man, Im a bassist and whenever i'm with one of my good friends who's a guitarist we like to stick on some Flea and John jam videos for inspiration and entertainment.

  • It's so beautiful, but sad. :-(

  • i am shure that this is wet stand final

  • this jam always plays in my head randomly throughout the day

  • God these two are great together. The two best musicians on our time man.

  • Simply Amazing we are lucky 2 have these guys thank you RHCP

  • this makes me pretty angry because i want john back in the band .

i wanted to see them live but ive never got the opportunity

  • man. as a guitarist i thought JF was nothing but an average joe but, once i started to listen to him i began to understand his style and passion. i give him all the props he needs to establish the top 10 spot him as being the top 10 guitarist in the world according to the Rolling Stones. im a little tipsy but to hell with crtiscs!!! Long live JF!

  • live pre-californication jams ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • john frusciante is sex on stage!! haha

  • I made a cover of this jam on my channel for those who want to learn it too. Just check it out if you like to =)

  • sex. <3

  • every time I hear this I feel like crying :(

  • freaking awesome!

  • Is this a Dont forget me solo, or am i way of. Just sounds kind of similar to a solo i heard before of Dont forget me.

  • @Luuucaas11 i believe its pre-californication jam.

  • Its so sad that John is no longer with the band. Those two were born to play music together!

  • its amazing how they seem to have some sort of telepathy. and not just john and flea, but all of the chili peppers

  • quality is shit, but the music makes up for it

  • this is the start to californacation?

  • @M011iY no i dont thinks so cos frusciante always uses his gretch white falcon for californiacation

  • @topcatiscool he stopped playing that beautiful gretsch white falcon years ago, unfortunately:)

  • @M011iY yao this is intro for californication.some parts of this intro are very similar to the one he did in slane castle.

  • he should have his own fender model

  • Fuck i want RHCP gig with Jonn once again.. :( I respect Johns choice, but its really depresing to know this is not gonna happend in near future or maybe ever. Anyway good luck to Josh, hes a fine musician too.

  • Ok John is godly he should have his own fender model

  • this is going to be the music that is played at my funeral.

  • i LIVE for shit like this...

    Godlike

  • frusciante is gone....

  • frusciante is a god, we waiting for his new album :D

  • fuck you for not respecting his choice!

  • Its sound like this that can bring someone to tears.... truly amazing!

  • @Pippy187 I was actually waiting for someone to comment about this; I just stumbled across this this morning and teared up at how beautiful this was.

  • most beautiful indeed. thats some real true musical passion and feeling there. so good to see it alive these days.

  • Happy Birthday John.

    Esperamos tu regreso algún día.

  • guitar sex

  • most beautiful jam i ever heard.

  • can someone tab this?

  • it's A minor Improvisation. Use Aeolian scale... :)

  • Best combinaison ever!

  • John make cry is strat, it's so beautifulllllll! :')

  • Finally I learned this by ear, but im not quite sure from 0:40-0:56. someone help me?? =)

What pedal does he use to get the basic distortion from the beginning?

  • @xX4crazy4Xx

probably a ds-1 or a BigMuffPi fuzz distortion pedal

  • Boss ds-2 distortion.

  • GOD... I am going to miss this so much...

  • that is the most beautiful jam i have ever heard.. just amazing. what soul.

  • the Peppers are dead without John....period No one is sadder than I but john is like Hailey's Comet.....a brotha like him doesnt roll around everyday

  • i agree about John being like Hailey's comet... and i love that guy to death... but we didn't even see the new guy yet. we need to at least give him a chance like the way people gave John a chance when Slovak died

  • You are right Kurly.....point well taken

  • @kkkurly exACtly!

  • @kkkurly very well said

  • @kkkurly

I don't think people "gave him a chance" when Hillel died because he was John's major guitar influence...It was just sort of like fast forwarding 5 years into the future when John took over. In interviews, they say that they knew John was the perfect replacement because he played just like Hillel, knew all the songs perfectly and also added his own flavor. The Peppers were John's favorite band...He was like Marky Mark in Steel Dragon!! :D

  • @kkkurly We kinda saw him on the last leg of the S.A. tour. :/

He'll be great, Josh is a great musician, but it won't be the same without John :(

  • and besides josh and john are cuts from the same cloth...i mean they're friends and they probably share the same love for pretty much the same flavor of music..... so i guess the sound wouldn't be so vaguely different.....lets give the guy (josh) a break

  • @kkkurly true. sept you can here klinghoffer. he played with frusciante in omission (the song) and in the band axtia or however its spelled. so if hes good enough to work with frusciante on solo work hes deserves a chance lol

glad ya have an optimistic view on it

  • @kkkurly It will be better than the first time John left and Dave joined the band IMO. Josh has been with the Chili Peppers for a long time and is almost like a protege of John. It won't be the same, but it certainly won't be like the OHM era. Josh is a good fit.

  • @kkkurly Any real chili peppers fan knows who josh is and appreciates his work. You HAVE seen him, because he toured with them for the entire stadium arcadium tour. He is the best person to replace john in the band. He understands not only johns playing style, but the man himself. Have you heard their music together? There is no 'giving' him a chance. he is already very much a part of the spirit of the red hot chili peppers.

  • @kkkurly Except when John joined then band, the RCHP were trying to hit the jackpot. Now they are caught in the "mainstream-band-status-quo". Their original material have sucked since BTW and I doubt that is going to change, no matter how talented Josh is. Only good thing about them anymore were live jams such as this one. I sure hope John will commit to some jam type venture in the future, like the small gigs he did with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Flea...

  • @senna01 Good riddance.

John's solo albums are better than anything RHCP puts out.

  • it wont be the same, but hopefully since Josh has played with the peppers than can do just as good (or at least close to it)

  • I agree with you but we should underestimate Josh till we see how good is he. We can only hope that he is as good as John.

  • Do you think Josh and Flea will have the same spiritual connection that John and Flea¿? NO..

Live shows won't be the same anymore... but it doesn't mean that they would be bad...

  • yea shut up lochtus!!

  • lick my balls you fucker ... really iam angry ! and you nasty boy!

  • Without John RHCP are "dead" ..

  • Shut up!!

  • I have this feeling that john will come back just like last time

  • @anthony36593 I don't think that will happen this time. He's gone into a totally new direction, if i were him i wouldn't anyway, the new stuff is much better imo.

  • jhon he's gone does not mean that the RHCP are dead

  • True, but RHCP will never be the same... And i mean it in a bad way :(

  • nah give Klinghoffer a chance.

cmon guys thought RHCP were goners when Hillel died.

similarly when John left the first time

''we're like spinal tap except it isn't our drummer that keeps blowing up'' :P so true (think chad smith said it)

who knows Klinghoffer is one hell of a guitarist & he gels with Flea BRILLIANTLY supposedly.
