It may burn or something like that ... And when it strikes is light outside, and when he looks at the tree is night ...

Don't know where you're seeing that it is light out when the lightning hits, but as far as the tree splitting..you got half of your answer already. The heat from the lightning instantly boils the tree sap causing it to expand and split the tree.

@BrunsAce there was a bolt of lightning that struck my neighbors tree, and they said that it heated the sap so much that it blew up and giant splinters just obliterated the front of their house

@BrunsAce Actually, that's not true. Trees splitting have nothing to do with their sap. Anything made of wood can split, explode, splinter or burn. Telephone poles, fences, whatever. Sap is not a factor.

is about... 1 in every 8 million bolts

thats one tree every 7 months in some states

the human body is not a very good conductor. If a person is struck directly what happens is called a "flashover" and the electricy essentially goes around your body. However, certainly enough goes through to hurt you. It can cause a heart attack in even healthy people. It can also cause really bad burning. But the majority of the electricity goes around, making it more survivable. If lightning strikes the ground near you you are more likely to die.
