@0ukami well the overall corner speed only really differed by about 10kmph from what i could see, its the fact that the car could carry more speed initially and loose more speed whilst half way through the corner, where as the bike needs to loose most speed before the corner.

BTW that is an R6S which is the baby R6. You can tell by the non-inverted forks.

"s" is the better street version not a baby by any means compared to the r6"r" race model which is meant more for the track

The Yamaha is using a parabolic line to take advantage of its acceleration by getting an earlier drive off corners, while the car is taking a more constant radius line to keep up its momentum. This accounts for part of the bike's lower conering speed. This is basic race driving technique outlined in sportscar driving books comparing high hp lines to low hp lines, also outlined in several interviews with motorcycle racers. Verified in my own experience, too.

@manoftim yes it accelerates faster but on the track is slower because it brakes earlier , gets on the power later , its just faster on the straights .

I agree, watch the episode where they review the Ariel Atom. He's clearly biased against moto's. I love my R6, it's fun in a completely different way than a car. I'm a fan of LMS/ALMS sports car racing and of course Formula 1, MOTOGP, WSBK and some AMA stuff. But I think it's disingenous at best to compare them: F1 and other open wheel cars are much faster than the fastest MOTOGP bikes just because of sheer grip.

But they are totally different experiences and both great machines.

calabogie motorsports track canada, this vid was really made to contest a tv show called top gear who said cars are faster around the race track (i like the show but the vid they made was iased to the car) as this video shows that all depends on the track and the vehicles.. in other words have the right tools for the job
