and lol Roger is so young and a great bass player 1:15 LOL xD

  • lol roger waters talked about this on late night with jimmy fallen.

  • Nick Mason is like Orhan Gencebay

  • At 1:34 = Rick Wright is very beautyful !

  • Poor Syd looks right out of it.

Love syd and the Pink Floyd though..

  • the best playback of history!! :D SEE YOUUUUU

  • Hey Apple!!!

  • RIP Syd and Richard

  • damnn syd looks worse here than i do in math class. i wonder what was circulating through his mind at the time o.O

  • :16 nick doesnt even play that fill lol

  • @metallicarules1234 just noticed that hah

  • I also hate lipsynched, if I wouldve been famous I wouldve hate if they forced me to lipsynch! Its so fake and dull, that's one of the things I hate about new music, its all fake and fixed up. Nothings reall anymore, its really sad :(

  • Syd Barret just sitting there containing more drugs at that very moment than existed in the entirety of 1974.

  • Syd and Nick look really spaced out.

  • I am a better drummer than Nick. Many of us are. It does not alter the fact that he looks like a total cunt in this flick. And don't talk rude to me, or else I will come round your way and slap you about.

  • @Stevenana007 how did Nick look like a cunt?

  • @misterE2012 I dunno - ask him.

  • @Stevenana007 dif is your bitter and he a millionaire and not bothered about yr infantile rant!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Stevenana007 yr shift at mac d's must be coming on soon! night lady ga ga lover!

  • Just 1 viewer is bananas.

  • Syd was already in the outer space in this performance though he managed to answer a question fom the presenter ..

  • syd looks soooo fucked up.. the beginning of the end..

  • I was making myself fruit salad, but I only had apples and oranges. So I sat down at my computer and was pretty much forced to play this song.

  • Syd looks uncomfortable lip-synching here. The others are able to laugh it off. It's understandable, why would he want to pretend to sing?

  • @MusicalTree3 Syd looks amazing

  • @MusicalTree3 He looks better than I do when I lip synch to it. I get the whole Roger Waters thing going

    X)

  • Syd looks uncomfortab

  • Oh my god, where is this featured in?

  • I Wish You Were Here Syd.

  • Its interesting to watch this in perspective of Nick Mason's book, where he explains these types of recordings for TV were strictly on playback, so for them it was about pretending the playing right. And that Syd Barret hated it and was less and less cooperative during "shows" like this (and other)

  • Syd looks so gorgeous in this vid, almost like Marc Bolan five years previously. :)

  • aaaapples and oooorange jizz :D

  • this was their appearance on the Pat Boone Show wasn't it?

  • Some of the smartest people I've met have been commentars on Pink Floyd videos.

  • my ears just came

  • Which song is better, this one or Help by the Beatles? It's apples and oranges, hard to compare the two.

  • So was it music like this that made Syd Barrett lose his mind?

  • @JaminRebel

Its hard to say if he ACTUALLY lost his mind or if its a clever guise to make replacing him work for the audience. Many entertainers have mental disorders. We don't even want to start counting how many have used (and still do) use any drugs. But they still hold lengthy careers. I think he just couldn't tolerate the fast past world of being a celebrity, and did the smart thing and bailed out before ending up a drug casualty. (dead from O.D.) ...But Willie Nelson's been fine so far.

  • Respond to this video... *fast paced. ...see sometimes I can't either.

  • I think they were feeling trippindicular here < wavy gravy

  • It is evident Pink Floyd was the original Cypress Hill.

  • @DoctorPencilK how so?

  • I prefer this Pink Floyd to the soggy AOR that came later.

  • syd looks finished

  • I like the part when they sing about apples and oranges

  • Wow he is soo spaced out at 2:12 - 2:18

    So sad.

  • Neither of them looks amused (see Nick), but look at Syd... he evidently "isn´t at home", he´s wandering somewhere far away... so sad in comparison with older clips, where acts so lively :(

  • I think if Syd Barrett kept control of Pink Floyd, they might have became the next Beatles.

  • @pashedmotatos I'm glad he didn't though, after all, wouldn't you miss Dark Side of the Moon?

  • @97nachotv mmhm.

It's just a "what if" scenario.

  • @pashedmotatos i really don't think so, gilmour brought so much to floyd, the band seemed to gel a lot more. Syd was great but you can't deny what Gilmour brought to the table.

  • @destined2sleep After Barrett left though. Syd dominated the first album and most of the 2nd. Gilmour didn't show much off till meddle but then yeah he was really impressive with dark side and wish you were here

  • @mittens579

You mean Animals and Crazy Diamond (both parts) wasn't showing off?

  • @sydonabike animals was primarily waters except most of Dogs and crazy diamond was all of them working together really

  • @mittens579

wellllll, that was still some showin off there in dogs and crazy diamond.

  • @pashedmotatos Better than the Beatles, IMO

  • Syd était un punk avant l'heure, il refusait de faire du play-back, c'est tout !

  • Im hearing sgt peppers in this, anybody else?

  • @1m2a3t4t5 I agree

  • @1m2a3t4t5 Funnily, when Floyd recorded their debut album, the Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper just across the hall in the other studio space at Abbey Road Studios.

But, yeah, I do definitely hear resemblances with it.

  • @mrsub360 and the pretty things were there to recording at the same time, very underated psych experience!

  • @TysonMoonchild

And when folks watch the REAL Dawn of the Dead (american version), few recognize the song playing one the "redneck target practice" scene. ...However on the Italian , it is replaced with "Goblin" (formerly "Cherry Five") who pulls off what sounds like some knock off Garcia Band stuff. Goblin's pretty talented themselves though.

  • @mrsub360

    Pink Floyd > The Beatles

  • @mrsub360 the pretty things also were recording an album at the same time in 1967, they had a fun time together I reckon

  • @MrSedbarrette I think the truth was he HATED miming to songs and it's no co incidence that on Top of the Pops he was getting more and more unhelpful.

He would've DESPISED today's record industry FACT.

  • @mrsub360: I am reading a biography of PF, and their engineer/producer was Norman Smith, who worked with the Beatles up to Rubber Soul...explains some similar technics...

  • @SolarTiger That's interesting, I didn't know that! There's often a tiny Beatles vibe in their early songs, I think.

  • Syd so wants to be somewhere else ...

  • great song

  • FAB !
