It's not a bug. You can do this vs everyspells. For example if your facing leoric and hes chasing you, use manta before his stun spell hit you and you will avoid it.

The same happened here with linas ulti. It has a movement speed, and nevermore were lucky enough to do manta exactly the same moment as linas ulti.
