  • Eddie Murphy? I believe that bass player is Nathan East!

  • The mix is all wrong. You can't hear Clapton's guitar on the chorus

  • I wish Hendrix had survived like Clapton did. I would just love that.

  • I'll be damned if that isn't Phil Collins on drums.

  • Not every guitarist's father! No! He is THE PREMIERE GUITARIST.

  • original CREAM is best version!!!

  • written on a ancient cave wall: Clapton is God!

  • Why does nobody mention how Boston ripped of the riff to more than feeling from this song.

  • how the fuck do you do that whith the cigerate when ever i try to play and smoke and the smoke gets cought

  • 10 people lost their badge ...

  • Clapton is GOD!

  • great tune great vid.

give an ear to our classic rock.

and our go at a few Clapton's great tunes.

  • harrison DIDN'T write the song, only the bridge solo; Jack and Eric wrote it, and Robert Brown wrote the lyrics

  • @rodhorn54 The only writers of the song were Clapton and Harrison. Harrison (with some contributions from Ringo Starr) contributed mostly to the lyrics, but also the bridge section with the guitar run through a Leslie (Harrison used this on his Let It Be solo). Jack and Pete Brown (... Robert?) didn't write any of the song.

  • the solo of the original version is the best

  • I love his solo on the original version.

  • how come all keyboards in the 80s sounded like purple rain? lol.

  • Haha, just bought the dvd of this concert today. I wish they sold some of the crossroads festival dvd's around here. Clapton rocks!

  • @mOs4114 You can buy them online. Just google whichever one you're looking for.

  • I'd always to see a Guitar Hero: Eric Clapton. His music is legendary; timeless.

  • George Harrison, wrote this song. Just thought you'd like to know!.....

  • check out my vid on his recent tour 2011. i got the last song for one of his show (encore song) FULL vid. thanks

  • @DarthVaderLovesYou It is! He plays drums with him in the concert!

  • This guy is amazing live.

  • 155.......1967 ROCKED

  • Clapton on guitar, Collins on Drums, Eddie Murphy on bass. Awesome.

  • great guys, wonderful

  • wow this is great! Clapton pure musician. this concert reminds me of how i wish he still was. Great he plays cream and his old hits...wish all rock legends would do shows like this.

  • Montreux is one of Claptons best concerts he's done...ever...of all time.

  • he don't play this song live no more tho-bcuz i seen heim 2-3 times lately

  • Shame this sort of thing is dying out. All those star search fucking programs are killing the soul of music.

  • @NickeyWhitfield Ditto Nickey, There's no more kids playing in garages!

  • @turdohop12 You got that right.

  • "Love is my badge"..... how simple can it get?

  • "Love is my badge"..... how simple can it get?

  • @amin1950 yeah, first album out, working on 2 more and start another in October in down town San Diego before the Blues Cruise xD

  • i love phil collins

  • puros mounstros del rock

  • Greg Phillinganes was there!! My hero.

  • I hada recording from this tour of Badge/Let it rain - it was on the B side of the 12inch version of Bad love - if anyone can guide me towards a CD version or an mp3 of that live recording that i believe was recorded in Birmingham (much better performance than montreux i must say) then please get in touch...any serious ERIC CLAPTON fans out there please help me out as i lost my tresured copy in a house fire.

  • Saw Clapton and Daltry in Michigan last week. Both were awesome. These guys continue to perform at the highest level . Clapton was my Buckelist guy. Glad I finally saw this true artist!

  • haaaa shows how much you know about music you victim greg nathan and phil are equally as good as eric just different instruments do read a book dumbasss

  • POZDRAV OD DUSKA IZ CRVENKE !

  • I would have loved to have been there

  • Oh my God!!! I was there, somewhere in the crowd, toward the cente4r of the stage about 7 or 8 rows back! I lived in Lausanne Switzerland at the time, and spent a few days in Montreaux at the Jazz Festival. When Robert Cray came out for the encore, the crowd went nuts! It was one of the best concerts I ever saw. Phil Collins came out from behind the drum kit to sing "In the Air Tonight", too! Thank you for posting this video. It brings back great memories!!

  • shit where thos niggers ome from

  • Cool Phil Collins Playing Drums

  • Happy 65th Birthday Eric!! WE LOVE YOU!

  • around 2:06 reminds me of more than a feeling by boston

  • Too commercial with Collins on drums-listen to the original by Cream and experience the raw energy of this brilliant song

  • really? i thought the white room sounded awesome with same 3 band mates. i agree with you that the original with cream sounds better, but by no means would i consider this bad.

  • what is clapton doing on on stage with these jokers

  • collins shouldn't be there but the fellas on keys and bass are amazing

  • @MyManDan he's proving that no matter what jokers he plays with, he still sounds good

  • is that phill collins on the drums?

  • Yes

  • @hollidayjeremy725 Yes... it's phill

  • George Harrison's lyrics. Ringo Starrr's only lyric is the one about the swans. :D

  • that keyboard sound.. sound of the 80's... it reminds me of my first years.. born late in the 80's

  • dreadful '80s schlock!

  • in the beginig i thought that to but laytly i have been lisiten to him and now i understand. you can start listening to his upplugged album and by the i dont know if its just me but when i see him play he does every thing soo..... oh i cant explain but listen to him there is a reason that he is very faumos belive mee

  • a brain possibly.

  • Only fags ride Harleys.

  • really? why you bought one recently?

  • it's your opinion, i understand.. but what makes hendrix style of playin special, besides his style that was, as we call it now, 20 years too early.. was it the LSD?

  • Well, the acid didn't hurt...

  • well sleeping pills killed him but clapton and hendrix were two different people.. friends but two different styles in my opinion page was better in music taste but all 3 are gods of the guitar and i am little toasrted so go easy on grammer

  • yes, Collin is really great!! and the keyboard solo and everybody rocks

and eric clapton is my greatest idol!!!

  • Is it just me or does Clapton look better now then he does here. Sure he was still qutie the drinker & all , but father time seems to have been good to him.

  • Now is better. Sexy as ever.....

Him and Natha matchin like twins :)

  • @TNO73 aint you noticed how life goes up and down , aint it funny how the wheel goes round? lol

  • @TNO73 its just coz he is sweating n stuff but i admit he does lok a bit like a hobo

  • @TNO73 Even Father Time respects EC...who wouldn't?

  • @Potguy2 No kidding, I wish time was as good to me....I've seen EC no less than 15 times and he looks and plays better evry time I see him. NEVER seen a bad show, some a little better than others but he always has a smokin' band and last years tour with Doyle Bramhall and Derek Trucks was no exception.

  • @TNO73 We must keep in mind, this was shot in the 80's. That particular orange shirt would make almost anyone with a fairly pale complexion look like absolute garbage...lol.

  • @TNO73 Saw him a couple of weeks ago. He is showing his age - kind of getting an old man's mouth. I think he is 66 now, so it's no wonder. Still fantastic and sexy.

  • Collins rocks

  • simply great!

  • Why the hell does it cut off?

  • if you're talking about at the end... it's because he moves into the song "let it rain" and u can probably find it on the side scroll bar with other vids.

  • Ah, thanks.

  • WHAT-A-BAND!

  • Clapton is one of the blues guitarist that who knows ancient blues roots very well and able to cover them in his own style... He has a style, thats what it makes him great. And he looks like every guitarist's father :D

  • ...................................... okey.

  • you said it... "this" (YOUR) remark is really stupid...

and an "interesting" guitarist? ok, to say the absolute very teeny-weeniest least way possible to admit that Clapton is transcendendiary.

    I think I just invented a word!

  • he looks exausted

  • This was during his heavy drinking days

  • he is exhausted.... he's going on coke and fine whiskey here. but still great!

  • all things considered, clapton is the best songwriter ever

  • BRIAN WILSON!!!!

  • yayayaya clapton foreva

  • What went wrong why cut this vid so abruptly.

Clapton is the BEST!!!!. And he`s so hot!!!!

the hottest guy on a stage ever. Never mind if he`s all sweat, a great artist is like a god, they don`t have flaws

  • Sounds good, but it's missing Jack's bass and Ginger's drumming.

  • CREAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it would be impossible to dislike this great piece of music and still be human.

  • haha Clatpon I meant to say Clapton jsut incase theres people with mild dyslexia

  • well i dont have mild dyslexia, you spelled clapton right but then you spelled just wrong. haha jk! videos awesome

  • Lix Dexics rlue the wrold!

  • typing error sorry :) it's a good thing we have grammar crusaders like you around, what would the world come to without them

  • the comment was a joke moron! the world would be filled with idiots like you, wait it already is.

  • you should see John Lennon , Keith Richards, Clatpon, and Mitch

  • nice hair phil collins

  • Clapton: so cool under pressure ....... once he got sober, no one could touch him in consistency of fine performances.Check out the Prince's Trust concerts during the Beatles 'Get Back' : HE SMOKES 'EM!!

  • i think this must be one of rock musics best songs.

  • My wife to be & I made a practice when we first met to have a glass of orange juice in a hand thrown cup and watch the sun come up together as the original Badge played in the background.. great song.. and this version is Clapton at his best... the light goes on & on.

  • Comment removed

  • How can you possibly get better than that?

    Amazing performance, audience shhh!

  • Comment removed

  • what?

  • sorry!oh gosh!i was gonna say CREAM playing it all together :D

  • i have seen EC TWICE OMG!!!! any time i think of it i get excited i hope to fill his shoes some day, . .i know that that is a tall order, but my heart is in it, i know i wont be the best but igot the blues and i want the whole world to know

  • @slashu I think you should pursue your dreams and I wish you luck in your endeavour. However, I think you are asking too much. There is only one God.

  • @slashu You never know... :)

  • @slashu Btw, you're lucky you've seen him live! I envy you...

  • you got the right attitude! do it! i have the exact same feelings as you!@slashu

  • If only the audience could learn to shut the fuck up during those pauses!

  • True, but can we blame them to be so excited about Clapton's performance?

  • The riff after the silence...guitars turn into bells on a great Cathedral...calling us to pray to a God we finally knew for sure LOVED US !!!

    Tom in Utica

  • Guitar sounds a bit to arena, but definitely a super great song

  • One of my favorite cream songs

  • what a song, written by 2 best friends, clapton and harrison. not my favorite version though, i preferred the hyde park one

  • it's the silence that gives one the thrill

  • And when the guitars start up after that silence, it brings tears to the eyes. It's one of those songs you one day realize has always been there throughout your life.

  • I heartily agree with "And when the guitars start up after that silence, it brings tears to the eyes."

I don't quite understand your comment "It's one of those songs you one day realize has always been there throughout your life."

    care to explain more?

  • Sorry for the vagueness of that, it just hit me as certain way this morning when I heard it, and the sound of that guitar riff , it brings back a flood of memories from my entire life. It stands out more than most. It's a song I'll hold close for my entire life. Thanks for replying and asking. 8^)

  • I also LOVE that song and agree that it's the guitar riff that is the thrill. i read my comment and wondered why I commented that "it's the silence that gives one the thrill" ... it's the combo

I have no flood of memories with people, just floods of memories of that song. it's gorgeous.

  • it's so brilliantly beautiful.... and then the little melody fraction that ought to be known by every human being, because it has got the essense of something common human and yet bigger ....... agree billdapony, it really brings tears to the eyes..

  • One of the best I've enjoyed~ thanks.

  • 4:22- They all fell for it.

  • I love his RED Guitar!

  • Yeah...gotta agree about Phil. He was great with OZZY on Paranoid too!Good recorded drum sound really helps.

  • Phil is a beast on the drums I like the days when clapton played with phil

  • Phil Collins on Drums

  • Don't you never ever die Eric

  • one word.........KILLER!

  • I love Clapton and im going to one of his concerts.

  • same here, im going to his one in montreal

  • I'll be in Indiana

  • dont miss it for anything

i saw him in houston and it was the best concert ive ever been to

  • i liked the long pause it made it more intense to me

  • eric clapton is a god damn legend!!!

  • clapton rocks!!!!!! keep rocken clapton!!!

  • ain't nothing cooler than Clapton..period

  • he is one of the coolest dudes ever..what a great guy. Sick version of this song too.

  • yeah this is incredible!

  • Is anything cooler than a Strat with a ciggy sticking out of it? Eric Clapton.

  • only a Les Paul Custom gold top 69' with a cigarette sticking out in Eric's Hands of course

  • This is great to see. I saw this tour. I have also seen the recorded concert for this tour about 10,000 times. Collins is my musical idol. He is usually over rehearsed which takes away some of the feeling in his playing. This is a unusual performance where it does not sound so "thought out". Pretty rare and interesting. Keyboard tones suck. I really liked the 4 of these guys together. I do not think Collins slept in this era. 85'through 87' he WAS the hardest working man in showbusiness!!!!

  • could EC be using a yamaha head designed by mike soldano?

one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought there was an excessive amount of organ music to the point of nearly drowning out the instrument I wanted to hear most...Clapton's guitar. Frankly, I'd like to hear this without the organist's distracting notes at all. I like Collins alot, but even he was a bit too uptempo for this at certain points, IMO.

  • Then check out the 1985 version where he's in the blue t-shirt. No keyboards and 2 great solos, 1 by clapton and 1 by Tim Renwick.

  • it's great too...but i think this one is better :)....the cocaine from Hartford 1985 though...damn

  • this person is more like a rooster cogburn movie from some alzheimers time. see, when they knew about it, and the love love love er sir dimential,a let me show how they make fun of old people, except for Clapton. and his dimensia, that he channels through our past lsd experiences and Healthcare. Fuck, not for me, for those who have no fucking clue.

  • So, you like the song than.

  • Can any1 tell me how to upload movies like from cds or dvds into youtube?ifi could, ill try to upload the whole concert or eric clapton concert live in hyde park

  • YouTube only lets you upload a video up to 10 minutes long each so it wouldnt work. just rip it from the CD onto your computer and edit apart each song and upload it song by song like I did

  • great idëa. send me it then. pls

  • that must have been awhile back....Phil Collins still has a fair amount of hair (at least in the back)

  • 1986

  • AMEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CLAPTON IS ABSOLUTE GODDDD!!!

  • she cries away her life, since she fall of the crade...

  • Clapton Is God

  • man i just love eric clapton i hope to see him in holland sometime i would really love to hear him play the songs i've played (age 17:P) fore 8 years now

  • She didn't have the time to wait in the queue.

  • I told you about the swans that live in the park.

  • WHERE IS MY BADGE?
