  • One day, I thought of a word "Anglish" half seriously based on a joke sense. Will it be on the Oxford dictionary some day?

    Anglish-

,,and recently noticed, it sounds like just "Anglo Saxon language".

  • There is no such think as American English. There is English and there are mistakes.

  • this video makes me hate the language

  • What did I watch?

  • 8th grade, 8th form, or year 8......both of them sounded like they were 35 or 40. Held back much?

  • This video scared me. It scared me bad..

  • We would actually say year 9 as Grade 8 = year 9.

  • I swear 8th form doesn't exist. The highest is 6th form isn't it?

  • Neither of them sounded British or American.

  • The British voice guy sounds like a fag

  • I love the stereotypical illustrations

  • WTF my FLAT is on the FIFTH floor ????? what in the hell? XD

  • @ReconCrusader haha whats so confusing about that?

  • @LOGIESPZ a flat = no floors XD

  • @ReconCrusader no that not true. yes you can get single flats, but you can also get a block of flats. a flat is just an apartment.

  • @LOGIESPZ It's to bad it didn't say a block of flats :P oh and are you american?

  • @ReconCrusader no, im scottish and what it said on the video was correct, a flat is just an apartment, so you can have a flat on the 5th floor.

  • @LOGIESPZ just wondering if you were :P

  • @TheQuys in posh schools (and non-posh ones in the older days), they were called forms I believe

  • Those guys are too old to be in the eighth grade/form.

    Also, they sound like robots.

  • The english guy draw its adolf hitler

  • Did he mean year 8 or the sixth form?

  • wtf our postman puts our mail in the postbox???? no he doesnt otherwise it would be sent again

  • lol candy sounds so gay

  • England say Year 1 through to 11. Then Years 12 and 13 are considered are also sixth form.

  • We don't say form we say Year I.e. Year 8

  • 1st music likes balinese gamelan

  • What's british english, it's either british or english

  • @AngelKILLER2

The United Kingdom is divided into various regions, which includs Great Britain, which is England, Scotland and Wales. The British are from England (technically, English is the language, British is the nationality). The British are the origins of the english (england) language, hence british english.

  • @naycnay

That's not correct, English comes from England, the Welsh and the Scottish have their own language or at least they did until English took over. Welsh is still spoken in Wales though as well as English. Therefore English from England is the language. There is no such thing as British English or American English. They are just names people have come up with to identify the little differences between the two.

  • @eurosceptic1 nope the majeority of welsh speak english

  • @DrBeeISO

They still have their own language which most speak, The fact that most speak Welsh as well as English is besides the point, there is a welsh language which is very very different to English.

I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand, there's a big hint about where English comes from in it's name ENGLISH = ENGLAND

  • @eurosceptic1 i dont no what your speaking about my friend is welsh he only speaks english his family neither no a word of welsh

  • @DrBeeISO

Retard. You are aware that a language called welsh exists? Try listening to the welsh anthem.

  • @eurosceptic1 IT DOESNT MEAN ALL WELSH PEOPLE SPEAK WELSH OMG UR A FUCKING IDOT

  • the British equivalent of america's 'eighth grade' would be 'year 8' not 'eighth form'. We only use 'form' when we get past year 11 and we optionally enter year 12, also known as '6th form'.

  • or in scotland primary 7

  • for me is very hardy to learn english, because here in Brasil, i don´t know if i go and learn the english or the amercian english

  • @manokorre english and American english is the same with afew different words. Doesn't really matter.

  • Wallet =British English

    Billfold =American English

    handbag =British English

    purse =American English

I like eating pasta =British English

I like to eat pasta =American English

    we live overseas =British English

    we live abroad =American English.

  • @nostalgiamelancolia1 Um... not quite correct. ^.^'

  • eighth form?? its year 8. A form is something completely different as nootkpr has explained.

  • form is a subdivision of a year in british english. I'm in 'year' 11, and I'm in the 'form' 11S

  • eighth form?

  • it is year, or class in England (:🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

  • @emilylovesulotz You are in a class, ( the people who are in your lessons, and your year is made up of classes with people your age.

  • I use all of these as a englishman

  • on the last part, they got it wrong... we say year, not form

  • American english really pisses me off. We gave them the english language back it 1800's and look what they have done to it. It's ruined.

  • @LLOYD19851012 eng. tried to subjugate the americas so the yanks stole it back really same with mexico both dialects are distinctly different form the native country though yank english could use a bit less of arrogance, absurdity, and harshness of delivery.

  • 8th form? Nope...

  • No one says Eighth Form... we would say I am in Year 8!

  • @button4boy theres a year/form 8?

  • @button4boy no because 8th grade is like year 11 or somthing. Its confusing.

  • British FTW!! :)

  • I'm scared...

  • i live in Canada i know U.S.A and Uk english

  • We don't say eight form :L

  • I would be livid if my postman posted my post in the post box! He should post them through the letter-box. Post box is where you post letters ready for collection (in the USA I thinks it's a mailing box).

  • The. Voice. Of. This. Video .Is, Weird

  • @TheQuys no i think its like year 10 or 11 ... i think

  • the british answer for the first question is what I use in America!?!?!?!

  • Well it's Scotland we have Primary 1 through 7 and Secondary 1 through 6. So we just say P4/S3 etc

  • i like eating flowers

  • 8th form? naaaa.

Years 1 - 11, and 6th form (or college) which conventionally is years 12 &13

  • I'm in Eighth Grade/Year too! NOBODY SAYS FORM. WHAT CRAP IS THAT. ITS YEAR. I grew up in England until I was 9, then I moved to America, so I know.

  • no we english just say year 8

  • that was creepy...

  • to everyone saying that the 8th form should be year 8 - that's wrong! We still use 6th form for years 12 and 13 - 8th form would be older than this IF IT EXISTED!!

  • I love the fact that Americans give flowers to their Mums, but Brits give chocolates :P Are they trying to call us fat ?! :P

  • @TheAweshomeness Clearly they mean that flowers in American English are the same as chocolates in British English. =D

  • @MastaKadaj Pffft no they're not :P

  • @TheAweshomeness Lol, it should be opposite tbh. Americans are statistically a bit heavier

  • I love how the pictures of the people are classic stereotypes.

  • 8th form, WTF? Year 8 they mean surely? Also the postman puts your post through your letterbox. You put your own letters in the poxt box when you want to send em.

  • eighth form isnt right. eighth grade would be year 9 in school terms. and also they made the english man all posh! we english arent all posh (bu ta few of us are, but there are snobs in all countrys no?)

  • 8th form ? :S It's year 8

  • Comment removed

  • Eighth year - not ''form'' in the N.W!! Trying to manipulate out language users AGAIN

  • Once again, it derps out and says that that is british english. That kind is only used in england, and most of it is only used in the south east.

For example, where I come from, the eighth form/grade would be meaningless. We use Primary 1-7 and S1-6 after that, so the eighth form would be S1.

  • @poloniumandrats There is no such thing as the 8th form we don't say this in the south east or anywhere in the UK we would say Year 8 or 2nd Year...

  • next time try and use proper accents instead of computer generated text to speech

  • When on vacation (holiday) in Belgium, we had a Belgian tour guide in Brugge who spoke english with a (to me) distinctly British accent. I imagine that if you learn Spanish from a teacher from South America, a Spaniard will hear you speaking with an accent, as well.

  • i prefer holiday than vacation

  • wow i speak british english and im not even british :3

  • I find this video strangely hilarious.

  • Could they not have gotten better speech programs than the AT&T one. Jesus

  • No way why that guy was in the 8th grade O.o

  • What in the world? Is this Microsoft Sam? Haha

  • more realistically...

American: I like to give flowers to my mom

Englishman: I'd like to give something else to your mum ;)

  • eighth form? hmmm must have somehow missed that one when I was at school

  • Americans give flowers but Brits give CHOCOLATE!

  • @DumbledoreLives7 chocalate goes away too fast and makes you have blood clots.

  • In the UK they have someone who delivers posts right to your house?

It would be easier if they just send them in the mail.

  • @sirhcskoorb we send them through Mail but someone walks up to our door who works for a mail company and posts them through a box in our door. Dunno if you have that in america :d

  • @sirhcskoorb of course it gets sent in the mail!

  • not the eighth form, the third form (for the old system, which public (independent) schools tend to use) or year 9 (the new system)

  • In England "year is more commonly used. In Scotland it's a completely different system. You get P1 - P7, or Primary 1 to Primary 7, and S1 - S6, or Secondary 1 - Secondary 6. Primary School is ages 5 - 12 and Secondary School is ages 12 - 16.

  • I am gratly confused with the grade. I am in highschool and I say I am in in my second year, which they say would be a sophomore.

  • im in the eighth form? no... if an american is in the "eighth grade" then a british person is in "year nine" actually. not "the eighth form"

  • The "eighth form"? Sounds like a Pokemon.

  • @baigandine Grades are overrated... Forms are better

  • @baigandine Eighth form i chose you?

  • I dont know how i get here..

  • @GMeinKampf neither do i my friend, neither do i.
