If they did let you use fierce deity link outside of boss battles there would be problems with his size. Becuse he is bigger that the normal link in that game they would have to tweek the whole game to make it work. But still that would have been awsome! (=

he didn't say it was the last, he said "this is the last fairy until ganon's castle(or tower)" and it is the best because she(or it.. as i like to call it XD) gives you invincibility,not half the amount of dmg

Nayru's Love is pretty magic-hungry, though, while the damage halving is permanent. I prefer using Nayru's Love as a last resort rather than spamming it mindlessly.
