@bembeleee Thanks!.Yes the ESX-1 is a fantastic sampler. I have one myself and would recommend it for any style of music. It has more features,fx and knobs than the ES1 but different enough that i keep both!
@Electromachines yes ! ...happy to hear that im thinking about the ESX-1 sd longer but I was not sure because i have no experience with samplers. Thanks !
@westcoasthaze@westcoasthaze All done by ear and feel. Its not as hard as it sounds. Remember this is an old machine that has the same limitations (and greatness) of other samplers of the era. Auto bpm matching is not possible, but you get the basic functions to help like sample pitch/speed,a timeslice function(a beat chopper) a timetretch effect and re-sampling too.You get good results with a bit of time and effort and its fun! Just dont expect 1 button press and its all done for you.
I've just been listening to this on repeat, great track, is there a download? I'm compelled to get one of these now, you do a great job with all different genres!
@Elektriber Cheers mate! you are right, there isnt a 'sample split' function but i sampled 2 bars worth and saved... I then found the start of the second bar, truncated and saved to another location, and then deleted this section from the original save. Basically 'splitting' up one sample into two.
btw... why did you remove some of your vids? 'Leakage' and frozen are killer tracks!
@Elektriber The main sample(start of vid) is sampled direct to ES from vinyl. and edited by ear also on the ES. The drum sounds are random free music magazine samples imported from pc to the mem card.
Are your samples stereo or mono? Thing is that i tried to sample and split the stuff , problem is that in your video your samples don't overlap when you change from one to another , is that because you've adjusted the ends?
@Elektriber Mono only. Asign one sample to 6A and the other to 6B (or 7A and B). This will allow you to trigger either sample and cancel the other one out.
an insta hit...I am getting and ES1, maybe I can ask you for some easy tips on sampling and making patterns?
