I couldn't help but cry while watching/listening to Brittany's story. I know Obama will definitely do well. He's out to make people's lives comfortable. How do you explain that Americans are poor yet we spend trillions of dollars on charity across the world. Nothing wrong with charity but it should definitely begin from home. Yes WE CAN!
I so agree with, and respect this young woman, and it is with her, I stand.
Never surrender your right to hope and to dream.
Schools should be the finest buildings and institutions of our cities and culture, second to nothing. Children should know, without any doubt, how important they are from the moment they get off the bus. Healthcare distribution and costs are an absolute Disgrace.
Really touching story. I thank her for sharing that with us. That is the kind of audacity we need in these times. Hope and faith no longer have to be just frivolous dreams, if we do what it takes to make it our reality.
Thank you for your story. You are an inspiration to us all. I know your mother is proudly watching over you -- smiling at her daughter's courage and determination. No one can control hope. That's why some scoff and belittle it. Keep on!
Thank you for sharing your story. I have a 1 buk food stamp too. But it is kinda torn, I keep it in my wallet. You make me proud as Obama does, "yes we can" do everything we want with hope and hard work. Thank you.

So sorry aobut your mom Brittany... I know how it feels, I am living it firsthand right now as we speak. My mom had breast cancer twice 10 years ago and now it has spread throughout her body.
im really sorry to hear that about your mother.... whatever you do, do not give up on her do not leave her side and keep searching until you find someone who will give her hope because hope is important...
wow..Brittany!!! i cant even begin to speak on what happened and the loss you suffer my pretty. You are truly truly a soldier and as long as there is light...there is your beautiful mother over-standing you.Take your spot in life and we commend you.
You are one of those who would be in the think tank. I on the other hand would be on the battle field. I think you are right we need change that's why I voted in the primary. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years in Africa and it's time for our people to heal this system here and in Africa.
Inspiration and hope are platitudes, that's the status-quo attitude, like the Moon and Stars are just worthless dust, put out there by a god who instills FEAR in all of U.S. - Substance is what's called for, by a system which understands only the Substance of Abuse, time for a change of latitude, send them packing back to Stepford-Land, because the reality is - YES WE CAN . . . and, - Yes*We*Will . . .
Thank you for for your story Brittany. You are strong, brave, inspiring & still full of HOPE. You are the reflection of many Black women who have came and who are to come. Yes you can, Yes we can. You've touched many people and I hope you influenced them too. Let's VOTE for CHANGE, let's VOTE OBAMA!
stay strong! be proactive you have a bright future in front of you. I am college student who has been trough a lot, but what motivate me and keep me going is hope.
To ALL American people, from Britain here. I believe it is time for change and time for evil people to stop leading America, war mongers like Bush and others like him and time to see A BLACK president. GO OBAMA!!
The tragic story of Britanny's mother shows that the American system is evil, I'm so happy I was born in Europe, in my country -which is less rich than the US- everybody gets health care regardless social status, race or whatsoever
Let's make this a better country. Let's do something to keep americans from having to go through what your mom had to go through while trying to get treatment for her condition. Change starts within one self. I'm moving towards change. I'm voting OBAMA... all the way for 2008!!!
After watching the entirety of the video, I realize the inappropriateness of my comment and offer my apologies. I've been a paramedic for three years and have seen the ravages of cancer and disease firsthand, and filled out billing forms knowing full well that not all patients will have the funds to pay for ambulance and hospital services. Brittany, your mother is in my thoughts, and know, that yes we can, change the world.
i'd say whole heartedly and with unreserved sincerity that u r a gentleman. i hardly see many people doing what have just done....giving apology and being compassionate at the same time. thank you.
This store is so real for so many people here in the USA we must have hope for change it is so needed I want to see change we have had so many years of stale-mate we need someone who can move a nation to change and without hope for true change we will have much more dissapointment. Obama 08!!!
Brittany met barrack for dinner & she is one of the volunteers so Senator Obama knows her, her story & the stories of many suffering americans. OBama for President.
Because they are historically black colleges and universities. They were founded when other schools wouldn't admit black folks. But don't worry though, students of all races can and do attend them.
Sweety, there are jewish, christian, muslim and all kinds of colleges out there that are race specific. The question is why do white people feel like bc a college is historically a college for people of color that they can not attend. Howard is an exceptional University along with Spelman and other HBC's. We have a long ways to go and the end of the old time can start with OBAMA! Basically we are all the same people with the same goals, why is it so hard or scary to embrace each other's culture!
wow! this young lady has said what a million other people are facing in America, i am a medical student and i went into med school for the right reasons, not for the money, not for the name, But because i want to help people like her, give them hope , you don't know what it feels like until you have been through it yourself, Obama is the candidate to bring us that possibility thats why i stand for him...it's time America to vote for the candidate who will bring us the CHANGE we need so badly.
I am sorry to hear your mom past away stay strong! be proactive you have a bright future in front of you. I am college student who has been trough a lot, but what motivate me and keep me going is hope.
Wow, what a rough road she went down. Hopefully Obama can change all that. It's horrible what people have to go through these days regarding health insurance and how there are still poor people living in DC when the White House is a mile or two away.
My mother also passed away due to similar circumstances a few years ago. I'm a working college student, and I'm considered an independent, but I can't afford health insurance. I fully agree w/ her when she talks about health care being a "business". Getting paid holds a higher priority over the actual care of the patients. This definitely needs to change, and I have faith that Obama can help initiate it.
yeah now that my mother has passed im an independent too and i have to figure out how to get insurance. i just spent a week with the flu and i cant go to the hospital cause it costs too much.....thats a blow i think there should really be a program for people in our positions.
Harriet Tubman, W.E.B. DuBois, Frederick Douglass, George Washington Carver, Langston Hughes, Paul Robeson, Jack Johnson, Huey Newton, Bobby Seale, Angela Davis..
