To think one "renowned" critic called this one of the worst rock songs. Allegedly, he thought the lyrics were ridiculous. Whatever! The music and singing is terrific you pathetic MUSIC critic! Great song!
1978. I thought Paul Mc Cartney would retry his 1985 on Band of the run, but I was surely listening to this long song at the end of the elpee back then, in all times of everywhere Disco :(....The Wings were surely different of the Beatles and with a great intervention of Denny Lain. At these times I was already used to listen to Barclay James Harvest ;-) Great to hear this anyway at high volume! What must my patterns said back then and also the neighbours then....Thank you ***
Finally I hear this song completely! It didn't pass on a 45 min cassette, because of this over 20 years I only knew the first 20 seconds of it. Thanks a lot!
I was just thinking it's got a disco beat. Never noticed that before. Just love this song. ONe of those that people who ignorantly slag Wings off should listen to
McCartney I also was "whacky" and expiramental at the time, and even now. Great musicianship... all by Paul on that album, beatiful songs, awesome guitar riffs/solos..... mind blowing lyrics.... all rolled into his one man band album ......... what can ya say?
The album from which this track is culled is often derided as mediocre. For me it is a GREAT Mc Cartney album and I love this particular story song - it is barking of course, but I suspect that the yacht on which it was recorded in the Carribean was not without Mary Jane... Great support by the band as well.
Paul is a genious, was the beatles soul

Love this song, the 3 stages of the music are awesome, disco, Irish-folk, sort of grunge, stars

I always felt this was the Beware my Love of London Town.
Probably my favorite song off the album, but wow...I don't think I've listened to this album since the later 70s so maybe I'm forgetting something.
AND...in 1977 if I recall... EVERYTHING had a disco beat. We just didn't quite realize it yet.

I prefer Macca but that's just silly. compared to Beethoven Macca's doesn't even qualify as a genius

"London Town" is a excellent album, with good and great songs..." Morse Moose And The Grey Goose" is a masterpiece.

Brilliant Macca.
Love stuff like this and Secret Friend and Back To The Egg and Don't Let It Bring You Down and McCartney II...
I love the whackier stuff.
