I never understand supra's. Everyone I know or have ever met that owns one acts like it's a Ferrari. When in truth it was the worst selling sports car of its era which is why you don't see too many of them. Not to add modding them is more than they are worth and in the end you end up with $ lost when you realize you should of dumped it into a better car that would hold it's value and turn heads of more than just 14yo that play NFS.

@ladygodia Well lets see, they can handle extreme amounts of HP and TQ for a fraction of the pice you would spend on an Exotic. BTW Ive seen more Supras smoke a Ferrari than a Ferrari smoking a Supra. The Supra and the Skyline were the best cars of their time and even today.

Not to mention people that own Ferrari's don't buy them to race them they buy them to just enjoy the fact that it's a Ferrari. If a Supra a car that was slow from the factory out performs a Ferrari I'm quite sure it's been modded and not stock. Why do people brag about beating stock vehicles? Supra's had poor sales and Skylines never came to the US until recently.

@ladygodia Well everyone thinks it's like a "Ferrari" because it just has the ability to hold very high power, and it can crush nearly any car when modified correctly. The whole point of the car was that it has a very high tuning/modding potential, yeah it doesnt come 500+ hp out of the factory, but with the right modifications and tuning ability it is able to get very high up there. Also, people don't mod their cars to increase value, which is something everyone should know.

@ECLPST Unstable airflow and compressed air being pushed back into the cold side of the turbine housing. I looked up the video you were talking about, and both this gawdy Supra and that drift Skyline are encountering the compressor surge. The only difference is the Skyline's turbo is doing it under boost as well as blow-off, making it sound more severe. Blow off valves do not make a "whoopwhoopwhopp" sound. It's the turbo being improperly setup for the street.

@needleonthevinyl Actually no because part of the problem being "surge" would require there to be a "surge" of pressure which there is not. The sound is a lack of a BoV which then the turbo itself has to dissipate the pressure or under low boost with a heavy BoV it wont open and thus it has to dissipate the pressure which is what creates this sound. I had a turbo car if i turned my BoV to high it wont go off and you get the pitter patter of the turbo every time you let off. Its NOT surge
