We sing this my freshman year in Highschool and its by far my favorite we've ever done!

We're singing this now with our concert choir girls and our girls choir, i love this song, and Christine Starr(aka piano player) is my choir teacher, so we listened to this recording before singing this song and everyone in my choir loves it

both of you make good points. however, gospel doesnt mean pop. gospel is warm and dark and emotional and enveloping. pop is brighter and more nasal. this was a bit more on the pop side, but gospel is hard to do.

aside from that, this was a great piece. well done. it's not the easiest thing to sing, some of the runs are difficult. good job!

That was the point, although not "pop style." It's a spiritual, and if a choir were to sing one with super tall, classical tone, the song would sound just plain, well, weird.

@cubby1215 its a more modern song its not supposed to sound more "choral" this is a song where your supposed to have fun while singing but still sing well. and in my opinion, they did a GREAT job. My all girls chior is singing this song for our concert tonight and this is the recording we listened to, to get an idea of what it should sound like. GREAT JOB girls.
