one has to think, that if the fans and drivers arent happy with whats goin on in nascar, that brian france and mike helton, would say lets go back to what did work?but there egos wont fit into the catagory, called WE WERE WRONG.they would rather watch racin go down the tubes than to admit their wrong.end of story
I agree with you that real racing was in 1940's-1980's, but I also believe that racing was good in the 90's too, since thats when I started watching racing. However NASCAR has sucked ever since 1.) Earnhardt's death, 2.) R. J. Reyolds and Winston leaving Nascar, 3.) Brian France becoming Chairman, and CEO of NASCAR, 4.) Development of the "Chase for the Cup" playoff system. Plus you add in the fact that only a few driver that really can drive, such as Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, and Jeff Burton
It's still real NASCAR as far as I'm concerned. I have no less passion for NASCAR or any other form of racing than I ever did. It still fascinates me the same way that watching my first full NASCAR season did. It's a shame so much of the fan base of NASCAR and all of motor racing has gotten so negative. Things will come full circle again and racing will come to a peak again. You all just wait and see.
@theMstanglover you mean Brian France? Bill France Sr and Jr are dead. But you bring up a good point.... people were always complaining about things they did too.... particularly the restrictor plate.
@erasetoimprove Oh yeah! Sorry I meant Brian France. I guess fans just complain about any changes that have been made that will make the racing different even of that means the slightest change.
I'm from the Uk and i love F1. But i really do appreciate were this sport came from and just wish that each f1 fan who says "whats so hard about going around in a circle" would just watch this and realise.
Yeah go to the Local short track if you wanna see real racing, def agee, i hate Nascar, but you sure will find me at Cherokee speedway SC, Harris Speedway NC, or Travelers rest speedways on a Sat night for some good ol dirt track racing
@99boyz It was goiod because whoever was the best driver and had the fastest car won. Which by the way petty in that superbird is king!!! MOPAR OR NO CAR
@99boyz because the guy who ran 15 races was more consistent and tore up fewer cars, and the guy who ran 40 races wasnt as consistent, had more wear and tear on his car. Nowadays, You can tell by 12 races into the season whose going to win. and its probably Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon or Kyle Busch. Hows that good?
@smackythefrog23 Ignorant. There have been 18 or 19 different drivers winning this year. Of course you are a "real fan" who think he knows the sport better than anyone else, so you never saw watched any of this year. Tony Stewart won this champion well tied this championship with Carl, but since he had more wins he was able to brake the tie.
@jimmcom i dont see how my previous comments are ignorant, having been a nascar fan since the age of 5 (1977) and seeing the last 30 years progress to what we have now. This year was the first real Chase since the dawn of the Jimmie Johnson era.
todays drivers b*tch endlessly about how HARD the COT is to drive. Sad. Richard Petty, DW, All the still alive old guard never had the luxury of power steering, cool suits, ac, any of the crap that the kids have now. These racers today dont know what the fuck they are talking about.
the complaining gets real old after awhile if you all don't like it stop watching and if you no longer watch stop feeling like your allowed to complain
@kkfan91 Hey, its not our loss...its yours! You're the one's who missed out on real racing. We've got the memories of great moments; real competition and driver's who actually took real risks in those competition in cars that were independently designed. We have those memories and those experiences. You never will. Not actually complaining as much as feeling truly sorry for you guys in your "reality show" (artifcial) world. Enjoy your "Nascar". Ignorance is truly bliss. -LOL.
When Earnhardt died NASCAR died for me, The thrill is gone as he was the end of the real man era, They are replaced with children that put me to sleep with the rules and all the new and extremly boring tracks, YOU LOST YOUR WAY NASCAR, Would some rich guy or gal out there start a new Stock car Racing league with men and let the babies watch from home with momma like good little boys!!!
pretty beautifull atonishing, wonderfull marvellous and fantastic super cars, nascar is tremendous super racing cars soooooo magnificent!! Go nascar!!
NASCAR's roots have always been in the South, but they have always run in different parts of the country...in the '50's, they ran a lot of places they don't come near today...the Pacific Northwest, different parts of the Midwest, etc. Also, they ran some races in Canada. Richard Petty's first Grand National race was actually in Toronto...
They ruined NASCAR by making it to commercial and uprooting it from its southern roots, im not even from the south but I still respect where NASCAR came from, its a big joke now.
@ReDRuM868 The sport outgrew its southern roots. What ruined NASCAR was not restricting the technology arms race that started in 1985 and has continued to this day.
This is a wonderful tribute to NASCAR. I recall the old days when drivers moved over from stock cars to open wheel and back. These were stock cars before big money overtook this fine sport!
(send this video to brian france.) well said, great video skyokid, those guys are a special breed, and most would be rollin in there graves to know where this sport went.
the '90s were "real," too. but i suppose the '70s and '80s were the best time for nascar. the competition was better, the crashes were awesomer, and you really had to admire the drivers for how much talent they had
noe this is NASCAR!!! the drivers now dont have any idea how easy it is now. i mean their not racing the petty's, earnhardt, the alison's and all those guys who set the records years ago and made NASCAR wat it is today!!!
yeah i think real nascar was from the 1940's on dirt to the mid 1990's. Yeah i dont like how all the cars look the same, where the only difference is the stickers. i liked it wen u could tell the difference from a ford from a chevy!
ya ishould have put in some 40 dirt stuff i didnt think about alot cause its hard to find alot of old ones and u are rite about the looks the only thing diffrent is a sticker
Great video , I`ve never heard Lemmy`s cover of louie louie , an unexpected treat !
