The Barrow Gang was no collection of heroes. The movie got it wrong. They only robbed one bank & that was Raymond Hamilton's idea because Clyde was too scared to rob banks. They mostly robbed family owned businesses, like smalltown stores & they were more feared & hated than loved.

Frank Hamer isn't a sterling hero either but he's still legendary IMO. He survived decades of being a frontier lawman in a place that was threadbare of law & order. Hamer survived for a reason.

That song is bad but those killers clyde and bonnie were bad too, they thought they were too good to work and so they robbed folks who did work, and they were dirty stinking killers. I work hard for my wealth and I would not give a dime to any robber, America was in trouble, and bonnie and clyde made things worse for many good people by stealing money and killing unarmed civlians and law enforcement, B&C were terrorists in my opinion.

I bought this movie off ebay,its a documentary about B & C and it sucks,full of lies,it was made to make Frank Hamer a hero for the cowardly ambush of Bonnie and Clyde.

I haven't seen this particular movie, but Frank Hamer was indeed a hero. But maybe I'm just partial, knowing more about him than you do. He was my step-dad's uncle. Look Frank Hamer up in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. Read about his whole life. He was a good God fearing man.

@Sherri119 my father was a deputy sheriff in TX after the Korean war, met Frank Hamer at a cop convention in New Orleans, actually at a club or bar after the event.

Hamer was a coward who claimed he would give them a chance to surrender but didn't and then snuck up behind the car holding two very dead people and repeatedly fired into Bonnie.

@Landis4r True the cops were suppose to ask both to surrender and didn't. In the book "Go down together" one of the cops shot Barrow on the side of the head killing him instantly. Barrow's head fell on the horn. Bonnie who was unarmed eating a sandwich began screaming. Instead of taking her alive they all opened fire on her. Afterward Hammer went up to the front and back of the car and fired many shots into the now dead Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie knew what she was doing, she wrote many poems.
