Watching some of your videos has inspired me to do even more. I used to have bad pain on the outside of both of my ankles, near the bone, when I walked. It hurt SO bad. I started walking to the beach and back (total of four miles) and sometimes longer to make it an extra mile. It hurt a lot in the beginning but after doing it for some time, the pain is gone. And I'm not even tired anymore. Just keep doing it. It gets easier every time. :)
I love how you can always smile even when life gives you something unexpected. I want to do that. Also you have an awesome personality you remind me of Melissa McCarthy.

A little story on my JUST GET ON WITH IT note below...
Recently a friend wrote these 5 words for me on a big piece of paper. She said that I should stop finding excuses for 'not being able to do' a certain thing.
I stuck this on my doorframe so that I see it every time I walk there, which is loads of times a day. It's been there for three days now and there has been a shift.
Really, it is all about getting on with it. Which you can only do if you are passionate about your chosen objective.

I have found on those days I choose exercise, my body naturally wants better foods. It just happens. I agree on the no restrictions! I am free to eat anything I want, but ONLY when I am hungry enough to feel a tummy growl, and I only eat to satisfaction ~ not fullness. Simple things ~ but it is changing my life for the better! I may not be losing tons of weight, but I feel like I have more balance, and it will just happen naturally.
I want to thank you for mentioning the "17 Day Diet" in your videos before, I found it because of you and I've been doing it for over 2 months and lost 16 lbs so far! This diet really clicked for me - which is a change. Now I'm starting a juicing fast for 15 days, I know I can do it now after the mindset of the 17 Day Diet. My sister and niece have also started the 17 Day. I owe it all to your mentioning it in the first place :)
Have you read any of the books by Geneen Roth? She draws a connection between food and control that just "clicked" for me. I only started to lose weight after I gave myself permission to have whatever I wanted. Then, my good choices were MY choices, not what was being forced on me by what I SHOULD be doing (because I COULD do whatever I wanted). Especially relevant for people who have suffered trauma at the hands of another or been (over)controlled by other people (for me parents). Good job!
@chicogirl61 I agree with that as well, although a bit different :). I realized that I can't control everything else in my life but one thing I could control was what I ate and how much I exercised - it sounds so simple but, as we all know ;), not as easy as it sounds. I am in charge of my weight destiny :):).
I know how you feel - i got the wii and was doing great and then my knee started popping and really bothering me - so taking a break from that for a few days - swimming instead
Oh Allison im so with you, i would love to be more motivated and walk more as i cant be doing with the gym, so walking is better than nothing i guess. I really want to but somehow i just have to eat all the nice things and cant stop when i get started, really applauding your attitude at the moment, keep up the walking. xx

I sweat walking in the winter when it's snowy. I sweat walking down the street. My body doesn't know how to be normal and not sweat!

I can't remember where I read it but years ago there was a survey to do with weight loss. There were three groups.
1) Only dieted.
2) Dieted and exercised.
3) Only exercised.
They all lost weight.
One year later, most of those who only exercised had kept the weight off. #2 - some kept it off.
Almost NONE of those who only dieted had kept the weight off.
If Oprah falls off the wagon with personal trainers and all her wealth... it must be very hard indeed.
