As far as I'm concerned the Zepp-er's fralin' is the proverbial gold standard in traditional clawhammer tunes. I just learned Durang's Hornpipe from his vid... and just about got most of this one down(love this tune). His playing is impeccable as are his choices of style and intonation. A true master... thanks for all your vids... it's a gold mine for us mere mortals!
Would you believe that after literally months of watching you, I've FINALLY figured out the obvious - that you're ending the part B with those two amazing chords - F then C.
I CAN'T believe that it's taken me that long to piece that together! I mean I already played most of those notes... without the chording. I feel like an idiot!
@AceII Well, please don't "feel like an idiot," after all, I am mixing up a bunch of versions here, ranging from Wade Ward to Howie Bursen to Doc Watson's guitar playing... Not to mention that for this recording I played the first and second times through the B parts differently (I don't remember doing that before). As I often tell people, I have no idea what I'm going to play until it's too late... :-)
great video Zepp thanks for a fine rendition

Sweet little chestnut! Sweet! I love your playing. Against my teaching, I use the middle finger too, with some sacrifice of volume.
I love the Ome banjos. So expensive though. But really nice. The best perhaps. Maybe someday. (Sigh)

@zeppmusic Still, it took me a LONG time to realise that it's two very simple chords going on here...
Thanks again though!
