  • 1:31 ya bro you swim your freestyle like that huh

  • This seems to be good advice. The exercises are relevant to strengthening the muscles we use in swimming. I would also recommend the Ian Thorpe video. He used a lot of free weights in his training. The test of all of these recommendations is wheher or not your speed and endurance in the water is improved. (Why must people use foul language in their comments? Very childish and unhelpful)

  • in my opinion, a swimmer needs to be well rounded, so dont even look at this guy..

  • nice language.....nice...tsk...

  • And in my book, it says go fuck yourself you scrawny cunt

  • if you want to be good at swimming. go see a bloddy long distance swim coach. not a triathlete coach. farrrr outttt.

  • uhm you want to lift heavy for swimming so that you get more out of your pull or kick. works for me. this video is retarded.

  • how do you lose weight fast if you have all day to give to exercise? is it intervals for hours?

  • i think its full of chicken shit just like weight training for runners. They would be better off doing clean, squat, deadlift, push press, benchpress. It these exotic joint popping exercises are so good then why are endurance athletes so weak.

  • thank you for the intelligent comment, jdmeghatch.

  • I forgot endurance athletes know everything about weightlifting, powerlifting, and weight training. They are stronger than the best weightlifters and powerlifters.

  • @jdmeghatch Yeah OK

  • @jdmeghatch It's a completely different sort of strength needed for endurance sports and weightlifting/powerlifting. Heavy bench pressing or deadlifting, while it might make runners stronger, wouldn't be developing the sort of strength (e.g. power endurance in the legs) they need for their sport.

  • @jdmeghatch Endurance athletes.....weak? Who are you kidding?

  • What exactly do you mean "condition the muscles badly"?

  • As a level 3 swimming coach I have to say these are some of the worst example dry land strength exercises that you can do!

You are not even mimicking the strokes, all this will do will condition the muscles badly when transferred to the pool.

  • Please elaborate.

I do the straight arm lateral pull down during my weight training and I find it very helpful because the laterals are used a lot in all strokes.

  • level 3?? since when did swimming have coaching level???

  • Ok so I always get DQ'd on breastroke do you think you could give me any tips?

  • @Swimmer4life479 how would a strength training video be able to help u not get DQed on breaststroke. if you want to not get DQed ask ur coach not youtube

  • @Swimmer4life479 well what are you being DQ'd for?

  • ONLY 1,000 VIERWERS WHAT IS THIS?

  • what's the website again? book name? ;)
