I had another friend tell me this and I believe that absolutely if the slide is displaced-even slightly-it won't fire. We plan a trip and video to test these ideas. Thanks for your input. Appreciate it.
The gun will absolutely fire with the slide held. It will not cycle, but it will fire. I've done it several times. I've held my slide and pushed it into the target. The gun fires, but does not cycle to eject the spent casing and load another round. It doesn't take all that much to do it. Now, on the 1911 and some others, if you push the slide back slightly when you grab it, it will take the gun out of battery and it will not fire. But just grabbing the slide will not keep it from firing.
Karateabc123 - Thanks for sharing feedback. My info on the "slide" comes from a friend who was a marine sniper and weapons trainer and says they actually did this. I have not tried it. The grip would have to be tight and I imagine one would be subject to the potential injuries described. I too thought the laser was a great visual. My friend who shared that said law enforcement sometimes gets shot in the arm as they get body out of the way, but not arm. Best of luck.
Great video. Loved the wrist control and how it moved into an armbar. Loved the option to use a wrist lock with the pistol. i always wondered about grabbing the "Slider" (didnt know it was called that) asked my instructor, told me it'd cut your hand/burn your hand. Loved the idea of "THE LASER" gave me some good ideas about moving out of the way.
