This so called restaurant isn't a good example for being a waitress. All that is being served is cheap frozen things that you find at a pizza delivery place. And what's with making it like a British pub? Ours aren't as contempary as this 'irish pub'. And being seated high up isn't how ANY restaurant should be.

I never take the menu if it's still in the customer's hands. There's a chance they still want to look and see what else the restaurant has to offer even after they've placed their order. I only take it if they've closed it and set it down. I've only been a waitress for a year but I'm seeing so many things wrong in these videos.

@SaraGoesQuack I would have to say that they're is one exception to that, and that's if they're handing it to you. whenever I go out to eat I always collect all the menus when people are done ordering and hand them all to the server at once. I figure it makes their job easier since they're easier to grab that way.

she didnt ask if he wanted a drink or if he wanted an appitizer or to add on anything else to his mean such as a side of salad or soup... a good waitress takes a full order before she leaves the table

each eatery has a different way of going about addressing a customer. im a diner girl my self which means that i do more than just take the order and run the food. i also prepare food and dress the plates up.. also if a customer asks how a dish is. no matter what you are trying to sell that dish so you tell them it is good even if you dont think it is... each person has their own taste for food.... she didnt ask how he wanted his burger prepared.. or even if he wanted something to drink

I just be very honest with the customer, if they ask how a dish is I'll let them know if it's very bland or too salty or something, when I was in training they told us not to do that but guests have told me that they really appreciate it when I'm honest with them. I hate when I to a restaurant and I ask how a certain is and they all say, "Oh it's great" to everything. Then when I get it it tastes bad!
