  • great album, with lots of good tunes! rat salad, iron man,war pigs, hand of doom, all fucking great!

  • Smoken, trippen it's all that you do....

A trip down memory lane for me. I'm 59 years old and I was lucky enough to have been there when it all started. Try to go on a Magical Mystery Tour with the music of today...Not quite the same...I think you get it for a youngster....

  • Hit the nail on the head man, Hand of Doom and Fairies Wear Boots steal the show for me, but as you said this whole is CLASSIC.

  • I mean, sure, you've heard all the songs from Paranoid on the radio. But listen to the album front to back without any distractions, Let every note and drumbeat soak in and try to tell yourself that it is not anything less than genius.

  • dude, this is such a good review.

  • PLEASE hurry up with the next review, sabbath is my all time favourite band i wanna get your opinion on the next one ;) we all know what it is......

  • 1.Paranoid 5/5

    2.Master of Reality 5/5

    3.Vol. 4 5/5

    4.Black Sabbath 5/5

    5.Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 4.5/5

    6.Sabotage 4.5/5

    7.Technical Ecstasy 2.5/5

    8.Never Say Die! 2/5

  • @mentalfeed70 9. Heaven and Hell 5/5 10. Mob Rules 5/5 11. Born Again 5/5 12. Seventh Star 4/5 13. The Eternal Idol 4.5/5 14. Headless Cross 5/5 15. TYR 5/5 16. Dehumanizer 4.75/5 17. Cross Purposes 4.25/5 18. Forbidden 2/5
  • @DarkRetroFan64 Eh I didn't like any of the albums after the Mob Rules stopped listening I doubt I will like them so I don't want to listen to them because I have given Born Again a try thought it sucked. . . Headless Cross just seemed like a typical Power Metal album to me.

  • @mentalfeed70 Not really "Power Metal" but yeah I get what you're saying. Not much of something that everyone likes but I'm actually pretty open to metal with a lot of synth in it. Also I personally think Never Say Die! deserves much better than a 2.

  • @DarkRetroFan64 Never Say Die! to me only has a few songs that are worth listening to it just sounds so uninspired and boring that can't help but not like it.

  • @mentalfeed70 You really gotta give The Eternal Idol a few more listens. Two of my favorite Sabbath songs are The Shining and Hard Life to Love.

  • @maalbe987 Hmm as I've said The only none ozzy/dio line up albums I have heard is Head Cross and Born Again and neither of them seemed anything special to me.

  • @mentalfeed70 Trust me, you'd love those 2. They're both on YouTube currently & in my opinion Hard Life to Love features one of Tony's best riffs.

  • @maalbe987 Eh I don't care for Tony Martin or his lyrics so I doubt the riffs will change my mind.

  • This album, the BS album and Master of Reality are the best metal albums in the world.

  • Paranoid is one of those albums that, try as I might, I can't find a single filler track on.

  • @maalbe987 Rat Salad?

  • So are you going to review the whole discography or just the Ozzy years? I'd die to hear your thoughts on albums such as Headless Cross, Heaven and Hell or Tyr!

  • Oh I'd love to see one of those guys back way back when just trip out all day to some Sgt Peppers all day and his friend (let's assume Chong) just walks in and goes like "Hey friend, I got us a new tune", he puts Paranoid into the record player and the tone just shifts into a wtf moment. Everybody looks at Chong and he's like "You don't like this", then the entire group just says "What the hell have we been listening to our entire lives?"

  • Am I strange for preferring Black Sabbath to Paranoid?

  • @coverkillernation You really need to hear an album called Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls by a band called Coven that came out in 1969. Worth taking note of is the bassist named "Oz Osborne", the opening track called "Black Sabbath". And the fact that on the front cover the band are making the "sign of the horns". only a few months later Sabbaths debut album came out, and years later Dio took credit for the devil horns...

  • @TheSethIkrass

Dio didn't take credit for it, he just popularized it.

  • @MetaI4Brains that in itself is a fallacy too. While Dio has said what the cultural back of the "Devil Horns" rally is, the idea that he popularized it is not entirely true either. It was something that was around in the Zeitgeist of music for a long time but he made it a very specific "metal" thing. But put it all in full context of what I originally said.

  • yeah, CK definitely smokes pot. that's a win.

  • Fantastic record, but not my favourite album by them, i prefer Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Master Of Reality to it!

  • Awesome

  • Paranoid is a legendary release.

  • I liked paranoid but I liked Sabbath better myself

  • great stuff!

  • I wanna trip with you

  • Paranoid is THE album that got me into metal.
