  • Looks so good......when she added the palm oil I was hooked. I'm emailing this vid to all of my friends who know how to cook!

  • If I cant find dried egusi is there something else I can use?

  • @felicia625 break eggs, season to taste, put in microwave for a few minutes-1-2 minutes till set, pour into sauce. I would blanch my spinach first to extract the water so I turn the cooker off once I add the spinach to sauce, so the steam in the pot cooks the spinach.

  • Man I cant wait to go home, and make some

  • one of the best vids for food ive seen in a long time :)

  • @Ndy190 how do ya do it?

  • @Ndy190 LMAO!!!! true talk

  • I tried this during lunch and was amazed by it. A Nigerian born co-worker made it with chicken pieces. He also had a side of rice with black eyed peas.I never tasted anything like it - it was simply great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yummmmmmmm

  • TURKEY !!!

  • Absolutely nothing wrong in adding curry to egusi stew. I put curry in mine sometimes. Try boiling meat with curry and thyme and see how tasty the meat comes out. I do add curry in my stew and egusi soup as well. It is delicious. There are many ways to make egusi soup. There is not just one way. Just be appreciative guys. At least she's trying to share her skills with people. You can also experiment and come up with your own syle of cooking it. Enjoy guys :)

  • SaLiVaTiNg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...now I miss home :|

  • Honestly, use Olive Oil. Palm oil will have you dead before u know it

  • @Nbaenziger Really? How come all out fore fathers did not die before they knew it? lol. And I know palm oil has some fat in it which is the point you are trying to pass across but it will never taste the same or even look the same if you make Egusi soup with Olive oil. Palm oil has carotene in it for anyone who does not know which is really good for the body ... good for sight for one

If interested google "palm oil, carotene" you should find helpful info ... could not add a link or would have

  • fail recipe

  • I followed all the steps and my soup was delicious thanks to you ma. Please I have a question. You skin is glowing, please what do you use for your face and skin. I am too dark these days. PLease kindly share with me, you can send me a message on youtube if you don't want to post it. God bless you ma.

  • @damilaretominiyi You're skin is beautiful as it is, you don't need any of those creams much love <3 <3

  • Thanks for sharing this recipe. I chose your method after looking at the various recipes videos. I am so happy that I did because it turned out great Yummy. Thanks!

  • I must say that the technique and effort are appreciated, though the palm oil is too much; especially now that we have to watch what we eat. All in all, the technique is good. I usually cook differently, hey, no two cooks are alike. I am definitely going to try your style. Thanks again, and happy cooking.

  • Sorry my last comment was cut off. I meant to say a lot of those ingredients are extremely expensive.

  • This looks like a wonderful dish and I love Nigerian and Senegalese food. So flavorful. But gosh this dish would take all day to prepare. Certainly not something to prepare If you have no family. Also looks very expensive to make. I live on Dallas, TX and I can tell you that a lot of those ingredients, I.e. Palm oil and egusu are extremely expeni

  • You should have said Nigerian women and southern (U.S.) black women are the best cooks. Black women in the U.S. Know their way around the kitchen too. Only African men when they get here rush towards white women and would never know this.

  • Nigerian women are the best cooks in the whole wide world. Boy, how well they can cook.

  • Boy, how much I miss real home-made food like this. Chei! See soup. I dey here dey chop Japanese food.

  • just the way my mom taught me to do it.....yum tasty...looks good

  • I'm wondering where can I purchase a skin bleaching product.

  • @tineytazz So you want to bleach; na wao!

  • there is no need 4 curry, tomatoe paste

  • it worked. Thanks!!!

  • This is too good , thumbs up

  • ode lawon to n diss cooking woman yi men...If you don't like it, go and hug a wet transformer jo! The way Igbos make their Egusi is different from the way Yorubas make it. I personally add curry to all my stews and from a persona perspective, this lady has done brilliantly! I do indeed mix onions with my egusi as well. However, I wouldn't have boiled the smoked turkey with the rest of the meat as it is already done. A good idea would be to slightly grill the turkey to bring out the smokiness

  • thanks for the video........will try it out. love from Birmingham

  • i made it today. it turned out to be amazing and it was my first time as well lol.thank you so much.x

  • Cooking is an art! Its amazing how much one can learn when they watch other people's ways of cooking! I love it and it really looks delicious!

Meat, fish, cow tail...i can go on and on...in one pot of soup! Africans got taste bugs!Good job!

  • @LaBelle339 lol ya we sure do

  • please if you dont want to get diarrhea please do not use this method??? practically cooking stew..

  • I usually mix my egusi with egg white to allow the egusi to stick together while in the pot. And I don't really get the reason for the curry. I think the palm oil has enough color in it so to me no need for curry

  • This is excellent. Thanks. I never mixed my egusi with ground onions before. Excellent! thanks again

  • thatnk you, this is very helpful!

    greetings from Greece

  • lool@carefully add the spinach

  • the prawns have been washed prior to packin....people can look for nthing and call it a fault kmt...aunty put curry in her soup and, if you no like am, no put abi? Aunty good one, X

  • BEHIND. What ever happen to talking during cooking to keep viewers interesting.

  • Thanks for posting the video. I sometimes use curry in mine and sometimes I dont. The point of the video is to show ONE way of cooking egusi so for all those who already know how to cook and are bashing the video...stick to you own way and let the beginners or those who want to experiment learn a different way. Why cant people just appreciate someone's efforts for once? Or then again...post your own video so others learn from you.

  • @kelegirl78

I totally agree. The beauty of cooking is that there are options and you learn and modify. THere are a million ways to cook the same thing. Great job !
