They do now but in 2006 they didn't. The Chorizo raced once in 2006 on Cerveceros Day but was not allowed to race everyday because it violates the MLB rules of introducing new mascots mid-season. I'm not making that up.

I do...these races are racially biased and insensitive. If Cal Ripkin slugged a sausage he would have been lauded for his commitment to good taste.
