We only have to see how sunnis and shias are killing each other. If that's the way they sort out their religious problems. then heaven help their concept of political democracy.

The last Ottoman census numbered Jews to be 3/5 of the population of the city. In the rest of the country, the Jews still kept a presence of about 11% (that's not bad after 2,000 years of forced exiles.). That was before the modern aliyya waves started, more than 120 years ago.

At the time everyone was called Palestinian to coincide with the Roman namesake of Palestine, including Jews. Palestine is a myth.

If, as you say, 800,000 Middle Eastern Jews formed the bed rock of Israel, then they would have accounted for many millions by now, and they don't. From the 20s the Arabs started rioting and attacking Jews in their villages. The Jews acceptd the '47 UN partition plan, Arabs didn't. British left, Arabs waged war. They lost.
