  • I was being born while you were making this - on the 15th. :D I'm a Boingo baby.

  • Now I'm ON THE INSIDE - OH SH*$!

  • Just makes you wonder how many people are hearing this song for the first time... 1979, was the first for me. You can't help but like it. It relates to everyone.

  • @TopockArizona Awesome!! First time for me was 1981, while in jr. high . . . INSTANTLY fell in love with Oingo Boingo!! Never before, and never again, will there be a band like Oingo Boingo!! They have no peers . . . utterly original, and brilliant!! GOD I miss seeing them live!! Especially the truly epic Halloween shows! (got to one of those back in the 80s). What I wouldn't give to see them live again!

  • Why do they always cut that part out? It's so fun to sing!!!

  • This is the theme song for my life:3

  • how did oingo boingo read my mind before i was born.....time jump or what T.T

  • What's with the edit at 2.40?? That's the best part :(

  • originally I thought this was one of the saddest songs ever. I still do but I now love it which is weird because I usually hate sad songs (BOW TO THE POWER OF THE OINGO)

  • @Onaga76 wow you think this is a sad song. haha i just understand it.

  • Great film. Great soundtrack.

  • I seriously would sell my soul to make love with Danny Elfman....

  • No, it was canned, antd they waited until some bonehead asks,,,

  • Pretty darn cool video on one of my favorite boingo songs. Good job.

  • this is not the official video, right?

  • Class of 73...Danny and Vatos and Steve were and are the best LA band!

  • Nooooooooo they cut the best part of the song!!!! =s

  • I love this song! Nice video.

  • Thanks PETEM4 that one worked ok never heard them before, nice. I had a really good time in the 80s I was in my 30s...best years of a girls life believe me! My head is still there but my body has trouble keeping up lol. Don't know about the white stuff though, tried it once and I was Tina Turner for a week...in my head! Too nice and too nice is dangerous ha ha. By the way I'm always chilled!

  • memories of los angeles as a teenager in 1980 when only the angelino's knew who the boingo was .... awesome band live...

  • Ha what a hoot! (thanks PETEM4 for share)

  • This is a great fun song...what a wonderful title for the song. Love it. Thanks for the share PETEM4

    peace

  • This is such a great song. I have probably only heard this track a couple of thousand times, but I just never get tired of Boingo music.

How can you possibly listen to this stuff and be in a bad mood?

  • I love Oingo Boingo and danny elfmen. I think that he is a musical genious and that oingo boingo rocks. But I think that this song was a little whiny and repetetive.

  • This is my song. The vid fits so perfectly.

  • Comment removed

  • She's a girl...-.-'

  • elfman is a musical genious

  • say something we dont know foo!

  • My Uncle's middle name is Albert.

  • Are you kidding me?! So's mine!

  • Boingo is one of the greatest bands EVER!

  • one of the top ten songs of my youth

  • You can really hear the influences from this time period in Elfman's sound tracks now.

I guess he's on the inside now... haha.

    Excellent!

  • they make catchy songs

  • My favorite Oingo Boingo song! I had a tape recording of it I got from a radio station in LA. I wore the tape out.

  • First album was the best. Not that there was anything wrong with the best. Only A Ladd rocks and is lots more fun.

  • Reminds me of the Aquabats!

  • Well the aquabats are apparently big fans of Oingo Boingo- they covered one of their songs!

  • love it...

  • Another great song from a great band from their best album.

  • Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha, this relates to all us outsiders. The funny thing? We all love it to pieces. ^^

  • this was my first oingo boingo song from their first ep. i loved this and played this over and over! i was like wha? who is this guy? I love this guy. I drilled boingo into my headphones for the next 10 years following everythign they ever released.

  • This can relate to so many..........

We all are on the outside generally speaking this brings back good memories....

  • Oingo Boingo seriously wrote some of the most profound stuff I've ever heard. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that the protagonist was a girl.

  • I have been trying to listen to this song for 7 years....Thank you very very much! :D

  • Isn't the modern era of digital music an amazing thing?

  • I like the shades effect and how you spun the attitude at the end into something positve.

  • great video , I wish I could have this song on my myspace :(

  • Excellent video and what a great song. Elfman at his finest, you certainly catch the essence of the words.....

  • Great vid!

  • sweet!!

  • I went to high School everyday listening to Boingo...

  • Cant wait for the reunion tour jumpingllama, twenty years later should be a great film.

  • nice! where was this filmed?

  • Most of this was filmed in the Southern California cities Corona and Norco, with a bit of b-roll filmed in Palmdale and Venice Beach. Thanks for watching!

  • you can see johnny avila still play at the aztec hotel in Monrovia, on the weekends

  • The first time I heard this song was while I was watching that movie, "Eight Days a Week."

  • @jumpingllama wow .. cool My home town/city Chino. Ca. and this is cool.

  • @jumpingllama this what i call a music video good job :D

  • Respond to this video... omg watching a secound time this was really good so realistic

  • lol love the lines of coke then the dark shades! nice stuff

  • That's really cool. It captures the isolation and phony material lifestyle of the 80's really well. ...thing is -has it changed? The fashions come and go, but surburbia is still the same in a lot of ways

  • Great vintage home made vid. You really captured the defiance and brilliance of the lyrics. I think it was their intent to say that the outside was not a bad place to be. Thanks for the post.
