If the Mustang was 4000lb (not a chance) it would be 1hp per 8lbs, if the civic was 2600lbs it would be the same. And theres no way the Mustang is that heavy, so that figure would be even better for it.

I own a 93 240sx (s13.5 :)) with a SR20DET swap. it puts out around 345 hp and on the highway i get crushed by the heavier v8s.. but the are scenarios that I can crush the v8s.
comparing cars like that is like comparing quads to dirt bikes. there different machines.
I love the sound of a bov and turbo spool and others like the sound of 8 cylinders...
Just remember I can crush a 500hp mustang as he can crush a light import. "Scenario" fools

Again, it's power:weight and gear ratio that wins races sgtjet33. They both have their advantages, however in physics the i4 is a better machine: the idea is to burn as much fuel as efficiently as possible at the highest RPM - smaller-bore motors always do this better, whether it's a V12 or i4.
Keep in mind that 600ft-lb @ 4000 RPM in a V8 is equal to 267flt-lb @ 9000 RPM in an i4.

Drag racing is a contest of mechanics, not driving skills. If you don't have enough skills to shift, you should stay in the pit.

I've beaten a 500hp Cobra in my 310hp Del Sol. I've also lost to a 270hp Lotus in my 400hp Mach1.
However, had he made the gear it would have been a closer race.
