  • 40k views on a video by google?

  • The Girl is really cool, she knows how to sign language.

  • good

  • Captions only works for Google for their videos only like this one. What a selfish, inconsiderate company.

  • WTF is that girl doing?

  • @NBNProductions1

    It's called interpretive dance. :)

Actually, it's ASL for the people that need captions.

  • @NBNProductions1 she signing and shes deaf

  • #LOL

  • I really do like the auto captions because sometimes they are supaaa funny :D....but the autocaptions do suck lol

  • The captions for this video were done manually.

  • Dont transcribe the video the captions will be wrong

  • And why does the automatic captions work perfectly on this vid and almost never on other vids?

  • @Fond3ll They don't. They made captions to trick people.

  • I wonder how man deaf people they actually had in that audience, or was it just Pc crap.

  • If you want to edit and correct YouTube's machine-transcribed caption files visit the YouTube channel "videocritter" for a free nonprofit web-based caption editor that will allow you to import or create YouTube caption files.

  • This is a caption that they typed in. Most videos say shit like ''You rainbow carpet mother is not peanutbutter wasp hive seventeen." Like I said, it varies.

  • So why is the automatic caption program SO BAD? Google's translation stuff is amazing, but the automatic captioning is horrible. Why can't you set up something to compare auto-captions to written captions on videos online to "teach" the auto-caption bot?

  • Why doesn't google allow hearing users (not just the video owners, but anyone) to transcribe videos? That would make captioning spread so much faster.

  • I love how the captions on this video is all correct but every other video is wrong!!

  • haha

  • Why is someone translating into sign language when right behind her is the text of what the guy is saying?!

  • @superskwrl for blind people.

  • @stephenw2713 If you are blind then you can't see the sign language...

  • @superskwrl yeah. exactly.

  • @superskwrl Hi, reading the closed captioning/text for us is the same as you having to read a transcript. Your listening to a speaker talking in English is the same for us to see our own language, sign language. Its always easier to listen/see your language instead of reading the entire video.

  • @snoopy20042 That makes alot of sense...Please ignore my original comment, I never took all of that into account.

  • What can I do so that Google Chrome can display the commas that separate the number of You Tube's view count?

    Please Help!!!!!!!!!

  • too bad they dont use their own product on this vid.

  • it gets even better if you let google translate the captations.

  • Google fucked up youtube so I could care less about them.

  • eye glasses

    on

    off

    on

    off

    on

    off

  • It's automatic Memes. Yay.

  • These are some good demos. IF THEY GAVE A BAD DEMO THEY WOULDN'T BE SITTIN HERE DISCUSSING IT WITH US NOW WOULD THEY?

  • Best feature ever. The jumbled and misinterpreted words can make any video hilarious.

  • lol the captions are so retarded.. if you were deaf.. what would you be thinking when you read the captions for a video? Example: Fred finds a creepy doll

  • The captions are always fucked up on videos. Except this one, of course.

  • ok to remove or add background for the caption click shift + B letter on your keyboard & resizing u can click the shift + - or + keys instead of ctrl although ctrl will work also....

  • so he said he'll show us how he made the text smaller & larger & how to remove the background but he never did im trying to find something bout it but cant

  • never mind i figured it out on my own to change the size press Ctrl+ - or + keys now ill try to figure out how to do the background lol

  • Hahaha the dutch translation is funny, since it's wrong wrong wrong.. But yeah it's still Beta

  • I thought he said "We're then going to have Ken and Naomi do some combos."

Haha this is what happens when you play too many fighting video games.

  • Now thats what I'm talking about. I'd love to just make a video and upload it and whatever I say in the video, captions will be made for it. and they show up when captions are enabled. saves me from doing the dirty work.

  • Captions on most videos are completely wrong

  • @shadowfax273k the ones that are wrong are usually made by hand by the video maker not by google(I think, don't know for sure)

  • @shadowfax273k Ok never mind what I said before!

  • This is SOOO funny, look up any sxephil video and turn on the google captions, they are COMPLETLY wrong

  • Sign language. Did you go to school?

  • ur a fucking retard, its sign language you idiot. GET A GOD DAMN EDUCATION.

  • 8:54 He says 'chuckles', but the captioning says 'chuck unless'.

Google needs to broaden it's vocabulary. :D

    Or hire me. Hah.

  • If you read the description, the captions are manually put in. They just time them for you.

  • Yes, I saw.

However, this still makes me wonder who typed the captions in. I am impressed that they have almost all of the words throughout the video correct, but it still helps to have people checking and making sure the captions are exactly what the audio is putting out.

  • I know, you'd figure Google would, like, quadruple check or something. XD Or at least just make sure they were thorough.

  • Unfortunately the CC option is checked by the one who upload the videos. I wish I as a viewer had that choice instead of the upload person. Why donot Google re-arrage its CC procedure - at the viewing step instead of now at the uploading step. Please let me know ... Just a suggestion.

  • Google rules...

  • I am an ESL teacher. It is quite great that Google has CC appeared on the screen. That helps ESL students a lot. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SEACH FOR VIDEO CLIPS THAT HAVE CC ONLY? please help!

  • To Vint Serf-V.P.: Use a Lazar Pointer for pointing to the screen, or a really long stick. Just don't point the Lazar in other's eyes-it does eye damage. I like the captions for music videos where I can't hear the lyrics. Thanks, Google and YouTube! :)

  • if you have a normal account you can only post videos with 10 min. But special accounts can have longer videos.

Have you noticed that you are in Google channel?? :p

  • google controls the world!

  • @F4LL3NSK4T3R I think google owns youtube company. So they can have the video as long as they want it

  • This is aweseome! I want to watch this video just because I can finally "hear" everything in it - thanks to the captions! Thanks Google!

  • Google guys :)

very nice tools. Youtube is becoming more and more comfortable, and that's wonderfull. First when I watched the video, I wondered... This pretty uncomfortable, to download file with snapshot, then redact it, then upload it back... Is it so hard to make thi redact feature here directly on youtube?

  • 56-minute video? It's not like I wanted it straight to the point, anyway.

  • Great Idea... in any language?

  • woot

  • I'm sorry, but why not make a simple interface for editing captions without downloading them, correcting and re-uploading?

  • how do you access this?!?!?!?!?

  • Does not work that well, but looks very promising! hope that this technology will be improved

  • can we get right to the demo?

  • Innovation!!! Google taking over the internet!!! Go Google!!! Buy out Facebook!!

  • hahah :D

  • LOL ahhah

  • Amazing! I just translated the subtitles to dutch, because that's my native language and I just wanted to see how that was working. It was almost perfect! Some mistakes here and there, but the dutch language is a difficult language. So I'm really astonished of the work. This also makes watching videos in different language I normally don't understand very easy. I love this new feature. And I really want to thank google for everything they do and try to make a better world and connecting people.

  • I think it already very clear the kind of asset this will be to all channel owners.

Take instructional videos. I have often wanted to watch videos in my native language, videos where it doesn't matter what language it's spoken in, it's just the critical that I can ACCESS and understand the video. Being a native English speaker this isn't a big issue for me, but I can certainly see how automatic translations and transcripts for instructional videos will benefit the international community.

  • 40:50 Klingon! xD Star Trek language..

  • lolol i translated the captions into polish and it's soo funny translating :D

  • to be honest, personally, I'm sick and tired of how Google and YouTube single us old users out, and does not feature our videos, but they feature old, popular videos by "YouTube partner." I've seen f'in Fathers Day videos 2 months after in the featured videos section... They don't allow you to remove that box either, so I sent it to the bottom of my front page...

  • 28:02 this is best thing in my life!

  • 43:55 As a captioning channel owner that has captioned all my vids since the feature came up, I have been waiting for YouTube to give us captioners the reward of making our caption files searchable to enable more hits on our vids. At least as of today, that feature is still missing, and I don't understand why. The whole point of encouraging captioning is to make vids more "Google-able" I thought.

  • I tried replicating the search at 20:54, and I could limit the search to vids that are captioned, but the search only searched the info of vids, not the captions, and there was no jump to search term link. I'm guessing then that this search captions feature demonstrated isn't live yet?

  • this is really really great!

  • this video is super long!

  • esos videos de google todos largos... pero se queda uno encarretado viendo

  • How about a braille printer that translate anything sent to the printer into braille to be printed.

  • Great feature youtube, I love it.

  • medium of political expression? After they have pass content filter, offensiveness flag, dmca police, and in accordance to US federal and other national regulations.

  • you didn't put the um's in the captions

  • cool

  • The lady @ around 40 minutes likes to use the word awesome allot :p

  • automatic caption?

    well ok.. :s

it could be handy: the automatic caption text could be translated to other languages, but the deaf viewer group is just too low to make this work.

it won't change youtube or something, it's just a small handy extra

  • I see the best point as being for searching and indexing.

  • neat. Hope it works well
