I thought hemoglobin was like a structural protein of the RBC? You said cytoplasm. Or is it both?

@roller237 I wasnt sure what you were takling about so I had to go back and watch it again. Hemoglobin is not the cytoplasum of a red blood cell, hemoglobin is a protien that flaots in the cytoplasum :D

@roller237 Brother: Hemoglobin is a protein (of four subunits with a hem group in the middle and an iron) that has a role in holding oxygen and CO2 and it is concentrated at the periphery of the RBC and is synthesized in the liver....hope that it helps

@dancingphoenix1 In no way am I copying bill nye, bill nye does not take questions via e-mail and answer them with an experiment. Also bill nye does not play a hyperacitive scientist. Playing a hyperactive scientist who takes e-mails from viewers and answers those e-mails with an experiment is my own creative idea. No other science program has ever combined a hyperactive scientist with experiments. I do agree that we need more programs like this on TV though :D

So white blood cells live for three days, except in battle when they're not expected to live more than 72. Isn't 72 hours exactly three days?

@guitaro5000 White blood cells can live up to 4 days in the blood stream. Just like how we cant say how long every person will live, the same goes for cells, some white blood cells may die after 3 days some may live the full 4 days. I think you miss understood me when I said "except during battle when thier not expected to live PAST 72 hours" Like humans in battler, some white blood cells will die sooner then others, some may even make it to the full 4 days during battle but most of them wont.

@miesrah12 do what I did get a bunch of spoons and have your friends all dig in to the container you made the blood snack in. Its not that spicy the corne syrup acctually takes away most of the spice and you really taste the cornsyrup more then you do the red hots. I was surpised to learn that too cuz I dont really like red hots but I thought this was a really nice balance of flavors.
