I loved this movie and really want to cut animal proteins from my diet. At this point, I rarely eat meat, but I do still consume dairy products. This is something I plan to work on and strive for. Good luck with your journey!
Basically the animal proteins/dairy are killing us. I'm from Cleveland where Dr. Eselstein works and I work at the Cleveland Clinic. I am a bandster. Banded on 1/16/12. Once all the meat is gone from my house its raw/plant based foods. Also watch Food Inc. on Netflix and Ingredients.
I saw it too and decided to change our diet as well, I even bought the book from the surgeon... well it lasted 2 days and both my husband and I were wiped out ! no energy at all so we are doing just a little bit of meat and it did make a difference in our energy level.
I watched this about a year ago at our college & the guest speaker was 1of the physicians they used in the documentary. I asked her during the Q&A if I could get in 60-90g of protein in using the methods because I had bariatric surgery. Her reply was, & I quote, "I'm sorry your doctor did that to you." There was an actual "gasp" from the audience. She never answered my question & went to the next person, as if I didn't exist. Beware-consult a nutritionist to go vegetarian after surgery.
I loved Forks Over Knives. Very informative. I don't eat meat, and I have had RNY. My numbers were great. My protein level was normal. I do not strive for abnormal amounts of protein in my diet, and while fruits and veggies don't have a lot of protein, they do have amino acids for building protein. They have everything we need.
I did see this documentary and only this last month. It was amazing and life changing. If you want to take it to another level then watch "Earthlings" on Youtube. It's an hour and a half but totally free and totally stressful. It's upsetting but if you get past the human component and just ask yourself what it is that we are putting into our bodies...well, it's eye opening. Love your videos!
Yes, I saw this movie and had me considering going vegeterian. Not sure how many foods will help us meet our protein needs....i only know a few foods that arent meat products that are good sources of protein but will it be enough. hmmm not sure but im definitely looking at foods differently and eating more clean now than ever before. Keep us posted on your progress

Totally going to watch this! I have always wondered if vegetarian/vegan lifestyles would be compatible with WLS.
