I would be delighted to see Geoffrey Holder. Like I think if I ran into him on the street I'd want to have my picture taken with him, and he'd be cool with it.
6:30 brought tears to my eyes. That kind of love and mentoring needs to be not only rewarded but encouraged! I was sitting on a stoop in NYC one afternoon waiting on a friend, when my eyes landed on this amazing statue of a gentleman walking across Broadway with a cane an hat. When he reached the stairs I sat upon I realized it was him, and I couldn't speak or move LOL! I wish I had.
"...and no cah-FEEN" I grew up seeing Geoffry do the 7-up commercials and loved him and his hearty laugh. Over the years I've seen so much more of him and love him even more. Great performer and personality.
What a delicious and wonderful human being! Whether in Doctor Dolittle, Annie, or his 7-Up commercials he is delightful. He should have had a huge film career. His voice and presence are so joyful!
Geoffrey Holder played Baron Samedi in Live and Let Die The Bond Movie with Roger Moore. Best Character Ever! Featured in Goldeneye on the N64. L.E.G.E.N.D!
I love it! Love the line that "The Black Ash Created Geoffrey Holder". Priceless! Love the man dancing with his wife, that is the way it should be, "Romantic". What an amazing individual, and talented artist!
Wow! I grew up watching Geoffrey Holder on television. I mean, he was everywhere & fabulous back then, too. What a lovely gift to find this video. Had no idea at all about what he might be up to these days - thank you (o:
Thank you!...user/andithankyou , for this charming video. I started smiling, and did not stop, I am still smiling, he is a lovely wise man, who knows how to entertain, who makes you laugh, as only a wise man can because he sees in a deep way, notices, loves, and makes us see in another way, watch, be aware of life, love, beauty.... thank you, Earl Jones, thank you user/richardcurrier ... !
Thank You Mr. Currier for this wonderful video piece on a terrifically talented man. A worthy subject and an excellent production. Good work... keep it up and thanks again for making and posting it for us all to enjoy!
Only 5 stars? There should be around 19 for this amazing post! Thank you so much! Mr. Holder is a legend in so many ways. I saw "Timbuktu" 3 times, saw him once backstage and have ever since been a fan. Once again, THANKS!
Both are excellent artists. Holder is just simply a marvelous artist in his right, just as Jones is marvelous in his own right. I'm extremely glad that both are still active.
If you really like Geoffrey Holder,I think it is best that you do not refer to him as "The New James Earl Jones". Why would anyone compare these two. They are not the "new" anythings, just the first and only "themselves". Please respect him as an artist.
Geoffrey Holder's carrer has been as an actor, dancer, singer, artist, phototgrapher, writer, etc. He has been a true renaissance man. His voice is an echo. His smile radiates joy and love. He personifies truth and hope.
Geoffrey Holder received a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts from Morehouse College in 2006 at our annual Candle In The Dark benefit. I was there that evening as he briefly entertained us--spoken word and dance--with the deep baritone (wish I would've recorded). It was wonderful. Keep our thoughts forever challenged and thank you, Mr. Holder.

Holder's voice is totally better than Earl Jones's, and that's saying a DAMN great amount. Why is he so obscure?

Good comparison, but hardly new. In fact if you do your homework, you will find that he is in fact older than James Earl Jones, but just barely.
