Isn't the point of a crossover (CUV) to have a car-like driving experience with a certain amount of utility? As Emme points out, it drives poorly and it has no utility with 7 (!) cu.ft. of storage with the roof down...

Also, I think it looks ghastly (shout-out to James May for that adjective) and very expensive...

@saenzlopez Yes, you are correct. Jeep is technically an SUV, but would you put it in the same class as this Murano Cross Cabriolet? I wouldn't, and I don't think Nissan does either. For me the distinction is off road capabilities. I'd take any of those cars you mention off road: Tracker, Discovery...hell my dad and I used to go 4 wheelin' in a Ford Bronco out in Colorado. But that CrossCab stays on the pavement.

If (in her opinion) she is wrong by as much as I think she will be, I hope she apologises as I will if they do sell to 'noticable levels. Great review of a CRAP car. Apart from the drop down roof I didnt hear anything positive about the vehicle that would justify buying it (even if they dropped in $5K).

I'd rather get an audi A4 convertible. The only thing making this a SUV is the low mpg, great visibility, and tank-like weight. Otherwise you're driving a heavy, non-sporty, over-priced 4 seater convertible.

I drive a 2001 Mazda Miata. Previous cars include a 1994 Honda del Sol (40 mpg!), 1980 Jeep CJ7, and a 1974 VW Thing (bright yellow and loud as shit!). My race car is a class 5 unlimited baja bug.

In my opinion, I don't think it's so much the fact that it's a convertible, the design of the Murano itself (particularly the front) might not be suitable for a convertible. Front needs to be toned down more and more aggressive looking (more like the rectangular headlights of the previous FX cross). Then maybe it would look better.
