During the first time I played this video through Google's Chrome I thought there was a really bad glitch and I was getting a bunch of pop-ups. Then once I realized it was part of the song and performance I thought it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. :)
Anyone who doesn't appreciate the beauty of this video would never understand the message of the song anyway. Both require a certain degree of sophistication and soul.
Meh it's kind of cool. TBH it would have been more visually pleasing as a music video if everything was just 3D graphics interacting with the Google Maps like at the end, that was the only cool part. The shot of feet turning around as Street View panned in a circle and a five minute clip of a guy running wasn't that great.
It worked, but not beautifully. Some windows just stayed black (I like to call them "Lazy Windows".) Sometimes, the music would just stop and the videos would keep going, sometimes, vice versa, and sometimes it would just completely become unresponsive! But I get the point of it and it is great!
@swkjfhskdjfhsdkjfh12 i think it depends on the computer you have, cause if your processor and graphics card are really low end, then that might explain your woes with it. it gave me the same trouble on my computer which has integrated graphics, but once i played it on my friends dream machine PC, it worked like a charm.
@swkjfhskdjfhsdkjfh12 Did you type in an address that has street-view, meaning an address where they have taken pictures from street level? Because if you didn't it would explain why some windows stayed black, because there would be no picture the computer could add in the video.
@vlassakj The site isn't down. You're probably viewing it through IE8 (Internet Explorer 8), which doesn't have HTML5. Only browsers with HTML5 can handle those sort of things. Even though Opera, Safari, Chrome, Chromium, and Firefox can view this site, I'd recommend viewing it through Chrome, Chromium and Opera 10.60. Other browsers can't take it, resulting in the browser completely uninstalling itself from your computer, becoming unresponsive, or making your computer completely shut down.
@swkjfhskdjfhsdkjfh12 Nope chrome is my standard browser, i tried it in firefox,IE and rockmelt. It seems that my university blocked it (or at least something the site needs to load).
@vlassakj OOOOOHHHH! HAHA! Well, then...........Ummm......I'm stumped. If your school blocked it, I'm not going to tell you how to hack that. That's just wrong. But if the SITE ITSELF is down...then...we're all screwed.
The irony is that i wanted to show it to the class as a innovative way of webdevelopment. (the integration with google maps). Hope it nevers goes down, i like the movie to much
I thought it was really cool, but it would have been cooler if the guy who ran would have run past the address you typed in, not only that they showed it in another window. Maybe they could have filmed the man running in front of one of these green walls, you know, and then the computer could have cut in the street view in the background or something.
@Tionsity That would be really cool but I wonder if they didn't do it because it would be really hard to do... The street view doesn't always show the address in the same direction with the road pointing the same way, so they'd have problems getting it to always look right.
lucky bastard... I did this myself, but no matter how many windows I close, programs I shut down, and extensions I disable, my version is always choppy and, in the most literal sense of the word, retarded
@whidekitty :( and why is that? ... if you compaire plastic songs that you can hear at the radio these days ... I think that this song is not bad.. don't you think??
i dont really understand whats going on there :-( . I need an adress which there are streetview images available for, then i enter that adress and then i see this video but pictures from that adress i entered?
Please do note, for the best experience to close down any irrelevant programs (that you can miss, to fully enjoy the video, as you get greater quality) and that the best experience is served by Chrome, due to it's full HTML 5 support. (Or any other browser with full support!)
The greatest of it I found the trees popping up in your city shots, amazing.
@xFreakPyromaniacx demonstration of HTML5 which means game will now be able to played in web broswers which would beat shockwave graphics by a long shot, but don't expect to play games like modern warfare 2 or other high end games (not saying mw2 is) on HTLM5 just games like the old DOOM will be able to be played or maybe even counter strike (first one)
WOW.... that was amazing, groundbreaking to say the least I just watched this with Firefox and had no problems. My comp. isn't anything special, Intel Core 2 Quad and it worked great. No lag or anything.
(if only the creator of the video would've used the typing/drawing part more wisely. Hint: if you draw something with the mouse, the birds will sit on it)

Suppose it's nice if you actually hold some nostalgia for the old days and your childhood.
For the rest of us it's a pretentious show wrapped around a pretentious song.
Oh well. Decent tech, at least.

@youtueagain Yes. Clearly people are just unsophisticated, and the right opinions are always universal.
Or maybe some people just don't think it's good because they don't care for the musical style or the use of technology in place of art.

you know, if you draw something on the part where you can write stuff, the birds land on the drawing.
Awesome idea!! NICE X
