i've just finished watchin' the film...it's fookin' awesome 10 out of 10! one of the best film ever made! whether portrayed by chinese, japanese etc..written by a white american bloke..not in japanese lingua..what's the big deal???the result was fantastic! this is not about insulting another's culture race etc..it's about how u embrace them, relate to them, and understand them...STUNNING!!
We Japanese and peace sign... thats awesome. As a fan of the performing arts, I thought this was well executed. I also love that they break down laughing, too, after the peace sign bit- even the best actors can break character, too, and that shows the audience that you're real people, too. LOL.
Go to GOOGLE-VIDEO and enter search terms: ROB MARSHALL and CHARLIE ROSE. Interview with the white middle-aged jerk who directed the movie. Listen to his pompous personality.
What nonsense. There is a native Taiwanese language and culture. If you think Taiwan shouldn't be indepedent try asking someone from Taiwan. Using that logic, the US should "legally" be a part of Britain still.
I'm not saying that Taiwan shouldn't be independent, I personally agree with Taiwanese independence. But I'd prefer to shy away from the legal status of Taiwan.
well that ain't gonna happen. The noble indigenous people were busy conquering and warring with one another, taking each other's land, raping, pillaging. During the colonial times different tribes happily joined up with the various sides (e.g. the French Indian war). Taiwan on the other hand has living breathing Taiwanese living in their own culture.
hahah and you think Natives here do not live in thier own culture? Obviously you were educated on Native history in a white school, which told and still tells a LOT of LIES about Natives...Im not trying to be rude but you need to learn the TRUE history.
not wanting to take away from such stimulating convo, but i have yet to read of any true indigenous people outs ide of africa and the middle east. doing some more research and you can find that not even south american "indians" are originally from there. every one migrated from somewhere. however to agree with kehala, nations first peoples do still currently live in there own culture, they get the opportunity to learn of their ancestors and various whatnot.
If you look deep into the layers of their message, it's very intelligent. But you need a literary / theater arts background to respect this. Otherwise you'll likely only respond with defensive stunned reaction - assuming Asians are to be "proper". Which is the core point of the presentation....
LOL! that is true the Japanese and the Korean both originated from China as well as the language and the writing. It was so hilarious! even though it was a bit insulting but its somewhat truthful. Hey! I'm chinese and I find this funny.
i think the actors are american, as american as richard pryor and dave chappelle. that's how much i like this skit. if it were white people, it would only be racist if it weren't funny. and for comedy to be funny, it must contain some truth and some compassion from within our shared human experience.
teehee..lol how funny. well..i'm both chinese and japanese.lol it is kinda true..my otosan said that japanese people did originated from china..but then again i think he said that cuz hes chinese.lol but w/e.lol i thought this video was very kawaii.lol *pretends to be geisha..*..lol j/k
