  • @zshoonander 'jaja' means 'kiss my ass' ;)

  • @WIltshireByways nice emoticon diss

  • I've been in a Joy Division rut for a week or more. Thanks to YouTube & Wikipedia discographies, I've been able to trace Ian Curtis, Sumner, Hook, Morris and now Gilbert thus far in chronological Order.

  • My ears brought me here.

  • @mrreaderman Hahaha. Priceless.

  • debs:D

  • ooh

  • Best song ever written, bar none.

  • From Wikipedia: "Introducing the song at a performance at the Zurich Volkshaus in 1984, Bernard Sumner told the audience, "This next song's called 'Temptation'. It's a story about long lost love." "

  • my girl try with pills, going around to try to pick it up one of my friends he was stuck in some bullshits busines, my old jeans

  • OMG love it love it love it oh ive got green eyes..............

  • Oh, you've got green eyes Oh, you've got blue eyes Oh, you've got grey eyes And I've never seen anyone quite like you before No, I've never met anyone quite like you before...

    remind me "trainspotting" girl =)))

  • <3

  • everyone rip it before utube clsoes it down

  • everyone rip it before utube clsoes it down

  • Este tema me hace llorar!!!

  • I remember buying this album in 1983,not long after its release. I think I paid $3.99 for it. Good times. Best friend got me into Joy Division in 1982.

  • @mike196212 Still got it on cassette here!

  • this song is really good working with a porn

  • There´s only a handful of really great electronic bands, one of them is New Order.

  • i love new order, their original songs such as bizarre love triangle and blue monday can never be covered, but this one is an absolute garbage compared to moby's majestic version

  • Will you put "Procession" up?

  • I searched for this album on New Orders page. Seems they forgot about it.It aint there. Thank you.

  • This is the best version. The '87 version is garbage.

  • I'VE GOT THIS EP IN THE BASEMENT, EVERY TUNE IS AMAZING! FEP 313 8182

  • THIS IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION..THE BEST!

  • Reminds me of a time of no worries.......... aaaahhhh to be returned to that time in my life :)

  • Reminds me of a time of no worries.......... aaaahhhh to be returned to that time i my life :)

  • I believe that you have grey eyes...

  • This is a far superior kind of temptation... miss...

  • @Failingexposed Chillax, dude

  • Ijustwanna.., you're missing an "s" in the word "condescend". Equal opportunity pedant, me.

  • Sorry, Failingexposed, but to demonstrate a possessive when a name ends in "s" doesn't have a second "s". It would be Curtis' Dog. Perhaps English is not your first language. I enjoy pedantry, though, and I know your heart is in the right place.

  • wow !! si different from the Substabce 1987 remix. Never heard this one. Sound much more new wave.

  • @Failingexposed - you're right! St. James's Park etc....

  • @Failingexposed Sorry but you're wrong. The possessive form of any word that ends with is simply to add a ' at the end. For instance using your own example Curtis' dog. So you are ALL WRONG!!!

  • this is the best version by far, I had this on cassette too many years ago, jesus I could get f....king hammered to this right now

  • What the fuck is "New Wave" and where is "Manila"? Thank you for uploading this, had forgotten...

  • @Failingexposed Williams or William, your example was still wrong. I think you must be American, because it looks like you've had some shitty education inflicted upon you... and just quickly mate, it's "Dept" not "Dept.". If the shortened version of a word still ends with the same letter as the full, complete word, the "." is not required. This is all basic stuff, really, which is why it seems like you're American educated.

Anyway, honestly, I've better things to do than edit your posts.

  • This is a very very good song to eat a hamburger to.

  • @BertramSpliffsworth wow thank you that comment just made my day

  • @BertramSpliffsworth uh....maybe if ur bulimic.

  • @BertramSpliffsworth Liked, because it'll get on their tits: Northerners; they'll get a giggle ;)

  • @BertramSpliffsworth is the universe! i truly believe in human stupidity.......i have met my boss! peace.... hugs!

  • @BertramSpliffsworth jajajaj LOL why? :)

  • @Failingexposed I'm not sure if you are a professional or not, but if you are you should educate yourself on plural possessives, otherwise if you put that shit in an email then your co-workers might be having a bit of a laugh at you. "Williams's Monkey"? If William is a singluar then that is incorrect. If you are talking about multiple Williams then it's STILL incorrect.

Anyway, I get bored with little cunts like you pretty quickly...

  • I just - coincidentally - read the lyrics to this song, with the result that my entire body is now covered in goosebumbs. I've turned off the sound on this video, afraid that the music is going to disappoint me.. Yet, I have this feeling that when I finally decide to listen to it, it won't let me down.

  • EPIC music.

  • @Failingexposed I'll butt brains (and heads for that matter) with you any day of the week my son. By the way, the correct spelling of "after" is A-F-T-E-R, not "afer". And the preferred spelling of "Curtis's" would be "C-U-R-T-I-S' ".

Bet you feel like a clown for criticising someone's spelling while not even checking your own :). Don't worry mate, you'll get there one day.

  • @Failingexposed I expressed my opinion on the song and you expressed your opinion of my opinion. If you disagree with me then I don't really care - musical taste is a pretty subjective thing and if you prefer this version then good for you.

But don't condecende me and act like you are some sort of fucking authority figure whose opinion is so revered that you can dismiss another point of view without even stating a reason.

  • Not a fan of this version... Bernie seems to try to hard to sound like Ian Curtis.

  • @ijustwannawatchshite Agree. I must admit that the other one is more in NO style (which only came in 1983 with Blue Monday and Power...) while this one is more JD-oriented. Of course, this is the best version for those who miss the JD's age d'or and/or somewhat think NO betrayed Ian.

  • i love new wave "my cup of tea, i am a new wave freak". The european music from 80s and early 90s is best music in world. Modern commercial music is too repetitive and lost, very lost, the best inspiring music is from 80s as all tunes are original and different.

  • 0:51 - Thats Bernard Sumner getting ice put down his shirt. FACt.

  • The ORIGINAL and the best ever version...

  • 13 people doesn't know a thing about what love is...

  • 13 pessoas não sabem nada sobre amor...

  • that is now my new favorite old song

  • icon....

  • Pure classic New Order.

  • This song, however good, is actually a fabrication of John DeWilt's Crying Game.

    Check it out.

  • I never comment on vids, but I just HAVE to comment on this one. LOVELY

  • Ahhh.....the days of vinyl!!! Those were the days when we would save up just to buy a 45, 12", or full album!!!

  • @CubsfanGSO Yep,know what you mean.Back in my day....it was 1.99 pounds for the 12" and 99p for the single.can't for the life of me remember how much an album was !

  • @CubsfanGSO Yeah, If memory serves me right my 12" version of this cost me 2 pounds 49p, a serious sum of money in Dublin in 1983. Different cover to above, the above cover is from an EP I think, I had it on tape once. Full albums were a real serious event, you had to choose VERY carefully what you were gonna spend yer 4 or 5 quid on. Me and me mates co-ordinated it, each buying a different one, so the rest of us could tape it. Financially-straitened bliss.

  • @liamevans I can remember doing 'extra' chores around the house so once a week I could go and buy an album or 45. I miss those days. I mean, I miss the thrill I used to get going into a music store, something that unfortunately has gone to the wayside for most of the US! Its sad!

  • I'm in love again. 28 years on is it still a rebound?

  • Its saw angry and raw, but so emotive and heartfeltl. I love every version of it, but this is the one that does it for me.

  • I want it to be bad, but its not. One of the best pieces of music ever. Total tearjercker.

  • just waiting for death

  • Superb version....... a timeless classic !!! Thanks for posting.

  • THE 7" IS THE TRUE RECORDING

DEATH TO THE SACRILEGIOUS 12" UNBELIEVERS

  • I love this song because my eyes do actually change colour from grey to green to blue. So I've been told!

  • @spacechick3000

Um...no they don't. Someone was just trying to get laid.

  • @MyCatsBreath Fuck I hope not, considering it was my brother who said it!

  • Best Version of this wonderful song... Brilliant.

  • @liamevans.Ha ha i was 15 in 1982.Still got the original 12' in the loft in Scotland plus a 7" single of an extended version that is played at 33 1/2.Copied both back to back on a tape and ran for some 15mins.....oh the joys !

  • @Fac353 Please inform me, what the hell is a 12"? I am younger....

  • @gaozhi2007 ha ha you make me feel old.Once upon a time before itunes and digital music and even before CDs there was a thing called vinyl also known as records.A single was known as a 7" (7 inches was the the size of the record) or a 12" (12 inches) which was an extended version of the single. An album was also the size of a 12" single. You would normally pay extra for the 12" .

    12' is roughly 30cm

  • @Fac353 Heh, thanks man. I have always wondered what people were talking about when they said 12." I guess I could have looked it up, but it's more fun to hear someone tell little details that you don't get from a wiki entry.

  • @Fac353 But wasnt this the one where the 12" played at 45rpm and the 7" at 33 and 1/3. ...just to be different. Could have been another New order single but am sure it was this one. This is pure joy...played it hundreds of times over the years.

  • @hufclufc i think you're right.Unfortunately my collection is about 10000 miles away and can't check.I know definitely the 7" was at 33 1/3 though.

  • @hufclufc Think you are right, not sure meself as I had the 12" and not the 7. Although my (original) copy of Love will Tear Us Apart has side A at 45 and side B at 33.

  • still get shivers down my spine when this starts.happened the first time i heard it in 1982 and every time since.

Identify so much with this song.

    Brilliant.

  • @Fac353 Totally agree man, I was 16 in 1982, loved it instantly, went out and bought the 12", now on my second copy (but still the original, not a re-pressing). It never gets jaded does it?

  • So GOOD!

  • I love cranking up the song at the 3:04 mark - it's just awesome sound...

  • whether this song is about love or ecstasy, it describes the perfect drug damn well.

  • I just got this vinyl... it's freakin' AMAZING!!!!!

  • Not just the music, but the amazing lyrics Oh, you've got green eyes Oh, you've got blue eyes Oh, you've got grey eyes And I've never seen anyone quite like you before No, I've never met anyone quite like you before Heaven, a gateway, a hope Just like a feeling I need, it's no joke And though it hurts me to see you this way Betrayed by words, I'd never heard, too hard to say
  • Up, down, turn around Please don't let me hit the ground Tonight I think I'll walk alone I'll find my soul as I go home Each way I turn, I know I'll always try To break this circle that's been placed around me From time to time, I find I've lost some need That was urgent to myself, I do believe Bolts from above hurt the people down below People in this world, we have no place to go
