  • people have told us it was probably a stray dog, but i know it wasnt a dog as it crawled like a cat with high shoulders and flat ears. it had a cat face. we first started to notice things were not right when our dog would not leave our side when it is normally is quite lively.

  • we were on a walking break in june 08 from settle to skipton. on the 2nd morning we noticed we were being followed by a large black cat with no tail. it was quite frightening as we would change course to move away, only to find it back in front of us again minutes later. this went on for 3 hours. it was the size of a large dog like a doberman. it was very frightening and we will not go back. we stopped the holiday at coniston cold later that evening. my partner would not continue.

  • beware the moon lads, beware the moon

  • @pur33vil you made me miss.....

  • the music in the background reminds me of FF7... =( I miss that game. TT^TT

  • Yorkshire + Scotland = awesome + beautiful + astonishing + mind blowing + great + I love it. :)

  • I am an Indian and I live in Sheffield. Had this perception that there is nothing as beautiful as India but ... Yorkshire and Scotland are equally beautiful. Yorkshire Moors gives me the feel of being in Valley of Flowers in India and Scottish coast line is like the western coast line of India. People say the weather is gloomy and some even hate it but I love it. The weather is as good as you living in Himalayas. of the north or north east.

  • My mum is a Scottish highlander and my dad is a English Yorkshireman so I am proud of both! both beautiful countries

  • so you have english and half scotish i am half spanish and half english cos my mum is from south yorkshire doncaster near sheffield

  • and i have irish ancestors with the mangham surname

  • awesome, I been to Ireland as well very beautiful country!

  • Proud to be a yorkshireman knowing this is part of my/englands landscape :D what i would do to live there... and im only 19 !!!

  • thats cool man. my dads family can from durham. is it similar to N. Yorkshire?

  • ermm it is a little yeh.. the landscape i mean lol prob becuase its not so far away.. only 30/40 miles or so dependant on where bouts in N yorkshire. Must admit though its a little more freindlyer in north yorkshire than what it is up there. Not to say that the people are nasty from the durham region cuz i have many freinds from there; heck i live in teesside ! :D nyways, still great place :D

  • thanks for the information bro.=)

  • no prob pal

  • do u happen to have any videos featuring bodmin moor and launceston in cornwall??

  • lovely!!

  • you're right it is beautiful, very beautiful.

But Scotland has that ancient mystical feel about it.

  • Great video

  • beautifol place, very similaire to New Zealand in many ways.

  • yes but much much more ancient than new zealand..and much more full of historical events

  • ahhh home lol and its not that greate lol but greate advetising lol

  • Home...

  • I've been up Yorkshire and Scotland and their both wonderful and beautiful, and are both God's country.

  • Yeah, i live in a town called Bradford in Yorkshire.. its not all heather and sunshine.. but i have to admit i love going to Otley Chevin (google it) and having a cold beer whilst looking across the valley.. If you ever get bored of it, Leeds has the best shops ever :)

  • you'll be surprised . don't get me wrong i love it here but growing up here through til 17 years old

  • man... I'm fromt he US, but I'm love with England country. I hope to go there someday

  • it doesnt look as good as this in real life... its always raining!

  • to xconversechicx: I think it's gorgeous in the rain too. It depends on the season but when the sky is dark and cloudy and the heather in full bloom.. wow! i have fantastic memories of the moors, north of Manchester, on winter nights, just after or before a visit at The White House, Halifax Road!!! Is that pub still there? That was 30 years ago! I would love to go back, no matter the season! I love Dart moors too. Cheers from France!

  • would anyone like to house a nice norwegian girl for a few months? I`m in love with the english countryside!! I`ll do most kind of work, to pay for my stay:)

  • I wanna get lost there...

  • Incomparable!

  • it looks like you could get lost for days in there.....which might not be a good thing!

  • If you value your life and reason, keep away from the moors, and do not cross over moss.

  • My wife and I toured this area 8 years ago, and were taken by it's subtle beauty. We now have a daughter, and I am sure she will like it when we return someday.

  • well i enjoy getting up their for a tour round on bike ;-]if just for a breather

  • Is that Murray Walker narrating?

  • No, it's Alan Sykes.

  • Where is the commentary from?

It's quite inaccurate to say the area is managed by the park authority.

It's largely in the hands of farmers and moorland estate owners, the park authorities do a few works on footpaths such as bridge and stil maintenance.

  • god I love the moors, just 10 minutes from boro too its fantastic.

  • what a beautiful country this is !! I was born in sheffeid but live in the usa !! I miss my country alot !! and hope I will return one day to stay and live the rest of my life in Yorkshire !! God Bless the U.K. thanx so much for this lovely vid !! lyndloo..

  • Oh my goodness...sooooo beautiful! After reading Wuthering Heights, I always wanted to visit the Moors in Yorkshire. After seeing this video, I certainly will.

  • I like the mix of photographs & video plus excellent wording. You sell this area wonderfully - I live just on the outskirts and love to bike and walk through the Moors and Dales.

  • Thank you. All of the images are video, though some may look like photos on this clip. It's a truly wonderful area.

  • love the video but i feel homesick :(

  • Where exactly was this taken? I am from North Yorkshire, I now live in Australia.

  • This was filmed throughout the North York Moors National Park between January and August 2006.
